Vinyl Repair kits

Has anyone in here used one of those vinyl repair kits? I have a small tear (1/4") on the dash and want to fix it.

Has anyone used a vinylk repair kit, what one was it and did it work well?

For a real small tear it might work fine. Before I bought my daughter a maxima she had a celica with a tear in the dash about two inches long. I tried to repair it with one of those kits. It looked so bad she ended up putting a sticker over it.
