Yet another upgrade for my BlueVe5spDream, Rims

Well on March 18th 2005, I went to Rhode Island and picked up my new set rims. I got a great deal from Winslow aka Smokie5s01.These are CEC Antera type 129. 17x7.5. Tires are BF Goodrich Compt TA 235/45.
Not bad if I do say so my self.

On a side note: I had my maxima tank filled the night prior. When I left my house I had 11 miles on the trip counter. I left my house and proceeded to Rhode Island. The trip was about 170~ miles and took me about 2 1/2 hours. Clear traffic, Flowing very well. Clear bright day. I left at 12 pm and headed north. Got to RI around 2:15pm. Called up and met up with Winslow. He was working on his cars (sentra and maxima) and had the rims waiting for me. He was so kind enough to have them balanced the day prior, knowing that i will be putting these babies on. I took one look and said where is the nears bank!! pointed to the direction and came back and put them on my max. He had a floor jack, so it took no time to put them on. I asked him if he wanted to drive my maxima, since he has heard about the ve and wanted to see what it can do. OMG the minute he pressed the clutch he was surprised. The ACT clutch gave him a smirk. he then stalled out going in reverse the first time. Then after puttting it in first he bucked the car and was wtf!!!! HE couldnt belive it grabbed fast. Any way we drove around his town, and he got used to the clutch. I told him to go ahead and keep it above 3500 rpms and to hit the gas. He smiled again. Told me that if he knew this car was like this he would have gotten one. Got back to his place and stared at te rims. He was sad to see them go,after seeing them on a car after a year of sitting. I think he was upset to see them go The rims look nice on my max. Now I have to do is drop it. Anyways it was getting late, 5pm, and then gave him his cash and went on I 95 South. At half tank I was at 250+ miles on the trip counter!!! I love the roads after between exit 41 iin connecticut and all the way up pas Mass. They are so smooth and next to nil bumps. Got back to nyc around 7:30pm. From there went to my job to pick up my package from Tirerack.com(suspension parts), then proceeded to join up with N34JZ and ShavedMax, hopped on the I495 Heading toward Long Island. By this time the gas light came on. I drove and hitting above F @ 400 miles. By the time I got to Juans house and filled her up, she was at over 430 miles @ 16.5 gal. Not bad for cruising on the highway and having some fun on the 95 with a few cars coming back. Round trip i tried to keep her @ 3-3500 rpms. 75-85 mph. Figured I got about 26mpg!!!!

My max has been performing beautifully. Even though its was off the road for almost a year! Of course I gave her a tune up last year, with full exhust y-pipe, hiflow cat, plat nkg plus, o2 sensor, clutch and flywheel, UPD which all helped. Man I am so estatic!!!! What else to give my baby but some shoes

The wheels look really nice!! I'm pretty jealous of your gas mileage too, the best I could do (N/A) was like 24 mpg, and that was cruising around 85 mph on the highway. Your next upgrade should be some springs/struts

If you drive a little slower, you will be getting even better gas mileage.

I have been to Seattle twice (four hours each way) and the first time I got 30 mpg, the second I got about 27 mpg only coming back (this is with the JDM engine). I went to my dad's house several times (two hours each way) and picked up 29-30 mpg since getting the JDM.

Around town, my mpg is crap. Probably 16-19 at best.

Mods are: a Fidanza, AMSoil gear oil, intake and y-pipe. I think the most important part is keeping your foot in check. Around town, I tend to dart into traffic and take off quickly.

the question to ask is it better to cruise @ 55, 65, or 75. 55-65 is too slow when doing long distance driving.

as for lowing if you look at my sig that is the next setp. Tokicos and intraxs..

Thanks for the compliement. It took me 6 months to find this maxima 2 years ago.. not leting her go;-)

Izzy get rid of the shopping list, half of those things aren't even on the car, it will look much cleaner. Even the person who had it first took it off Nice wheels, glad you're happy with the max, you seem to be a happier person when driving it.

When I used to go to Arkansas to see my ex at school alot... I'd routinely get over 500 miles to a tank and 30-31 mpg I think my best was 519 on a tank. This was all on cruise control at 70

Bout time you got some rims

yeah on the way to rocky point, i only went 130 miles but i averaged 30.5 mpg. This was with 4 guys and a trunk PACKED with stuff. I also dropped it to 3rd and punched it to pass some people and averaged a speed of about 90. The VE is amazing on gas. I get at least 20 city. Worst time was 19.
