91 SE Spoiler

Hey all...as you can tell from the title, I own a 1991 SE...I noticed the other day that on the right side of my rear spoiler...its beginning to disconnect from the base of the trunk. In other words...it looks like its beginning to rip off the back of my car!

I was wondering if there was any special kind of glue or something I can do to re-stick it before it gets real bad and I have to either rip it off or replace it altogether.

Any info/suggestions is greatly appreciated...

Thanks!

Nah, you can get liquid nail at like home depot, it is just used for things you dont want to nail down or cant. Like you can put liquid nail on a 2x4 and put it on concrete and its almost impossible to get up, its strong, and fairly inexpensive.

I got some 3m double sided tape from an autoparts store that worked well (stuff ment to hold body kits on), Im not so sure I would want to glue my spoiler on with liquid nails... but thats just me.

same thing is happening to my spoiler on my white 1991 maxima, i am just gonna put another screw down through the trunk, kinda like a nut and bolt kinda thing. they will both be hidden, the trunk rug will cover the nut, so you wont see it.

I used some super glue on mine. I used good sized rock to hold push the spoiler down{put a rag over the spot or you will scratch your paint } after i put the glue on there. Oh and don't use the spoiler to lift the trunk lid up any more if you do this glue thing.....

it sounds like the 3m two sided tape is your best bet.

spoiler is made out of nerf material, hope the nut and bolt idea will work out, but usually when the ends starts to lift, more than likely the metal base had rotted off. Speaking of which, I will be looking for an OEM replacement soon, one that is made from fiberglass or hard plastic. Anyone got the price for them?

Whats an "OE" or "OEM" replacement? Probably another dumb question of mine....I'm full of em!

but seriously...would that be something worth looking into? How much does that cost?
My car isnt all souped up so it really doesnt matter what kind of spoiler I got...but I have to have one cause I hate the maximas without em.

I had the same problem and I used this stuff called "Future Glue" its supposed to be like super glue but better. I used it on my car about 2 weeks ago and its still holding stong...oh yeah I used something heavy to hold the end of it down as well. Whatever you decide to do I wish you the best of luck!
