the GR-2's give a horrible and are even worse in cold weather! but Kyb's are known for that...I can't stand my GR2/eibach combo sometimes with low pro tires, but the handling is all worth it...although the GR2's feel a little soft for the eibachs as they are a bit bouncy/uncontrolled at times (no, none of them are blown, I have checked)...if you can afford the illuminas, definitely go for those, I hear they are the best struts we can buy for our cars in all around durability and performance as well as ride comfort...but with the slightly softer spring of the tockico's, you should be fine with the GR2's...they will be damped enough and ride a little better than an eibach setup, nonetheless, the ride won't be the best...but for the money, they are a real bargain for the performance...they are valved at 15% over the stock SE struts...

GR2s are a good stock replacement, but don't use them with stiffer aftermarket springs, especially lowering springs. They can't keep up.

I've had the GR-2/Maxspeed combo on for three weeks now and it rides fine. A bit firmer than stock, but definitely not rough. I'm also running the stock tires, so this may be why some members are finding it stiffer, but that's always expected when you go with low profile tires. You sacrifice comfort for handling and performance. I'm also only lowered 1.5" and it's not bouncy at all. I'll chime in after I log a couple of thousand miles, but so far so good. Good Luck!
