Xenons without new housing?

I was offered xenon headlights (like the ones on the acura with the box) for $200 with installation included. Is it worth putting these lights into the stock housing? Does anybody have pictures of how this looks? If it works well, is that a good price for it?

Thanks

you love the way the look? or the way you cant see any farther with $200+ headlights because you have to aim them down all the way?

If you're paying $200 for them, do a little more reasearch, what brand, whats the color temp rating etc.

I've read more negative than positve remarks regarding stock housing + HID on here. The beam pattern sucks, and clinds other drivers, from what I've read. If you aim the correctly, they are good, again, just from what I read on hrere.

why the hell do people keep saying this when they have no clue cause they never had to do it. I have mine aimed down a good amount to no blind people and it lights up everything infront of me very well. I will never go back to halogen after these. I will say that a projector would be tehe best way to go, but if you do not want to invest the time and money into get a hid in stock housing and do not listen to what half these people say about it cause they have not experiemnted with anything and on the org if one person says somehting everyone eles copies them. I will say it does create glare, but if you aim them correctly you can make it where people do not get blinded and unlike the people saying useless crap that they do not know about you will get much better lighting and it should be worth your money.

Even with lights all the way down, HIDs still blind a lot. I saw multiple setups at meets and can attest to it. I am going projector route.

pictures wont do it justice ... only seeing them in person will. I can also attest to the stock housing being bad for HID's .

i have seen the hids in stock housing, just on saturday actually, and it was eckohb's maxima, aimed all the way down, i was sitting off to the side of the car and he had his lights on, i was getting blinded by it. the only stock housing that i would put hids into are the ceforo housings, because ive seen pictures, and they have somewhat of a cutoff

Look if you're gonna invest money in something, why not do it the best way possible?? I can talk because I have the experience an knowledge. HIDs in our stock housing is a bad idea. The fact that you have to aim them down reduces the distance to which the light extend infront of your car which basically cancels the point of getting HIDs. Next you lose you high beams. I don't care how bright you think your lights are, you need high beams. Even care with the OEM HID setup which produce the best cutoff and light output have high beam. If they kept them why don't you think you need yours. Again if someone can come with a legit argument to disprove me, I'd love to hear it.

acually the money i invested was $100, causei nought it from another org member. If i did not get that deal i would still have halogens today. BUt that $100 was invested good. It lights up inb front of me like nothing i have ever seen before. It makes it easier for me to drive....i can see better.....it looks bad as hell....the hid's i bought in my opnion were the best investment i have put into the car. I do nto care if it is not the best way to go, but in my opionion i did it right cause i am 100% satified with my perchase and what they have done for me. If this is the case why doens;t everyone go out and buy the lightest 18 inch wheels possiable why do people take short cuts in modding their car? Casue just like most of us i do not care to invest $600 in some ****ing headlights. These lights serve my purpose, i am satified with them and that is all i need to keep them in there.......

i had HIDs w/o a new housing, i added a glare shield under the bulb which cut glare by a lot, people dont flash me and doesnt bother other drivers.i had a friend drive my car a 1/4 mile away and still doesnt glare like it used to w/o the shield. i had to make my own shield tho. i dont have the HIDs anymore. i miss those...

..... okay no more glare threads.. i think this is liek the 30th one in last 2 months.. hehehe

here is the ans... LIKE MOSES i bring u ....

http://faqlight.carpassion.info/special-topics.htm

i somethimes wish i sorta jsut got teh cefiro.. and for the guys with stock housings.. or ceifro.. after u make a SHIELD ...jsut drill a small hole.. and put in some type of bright foglight or osme other small halogen bulb int eh lower part of headlight.. this will preserve the highbeam..

and i know none of u NEED the highbeam but its good to have.. incase of someone not seeing u.. or warning someone during daytime.. for the stupid things.. just nice to have also to highbeam aholes.. =) but yea.. for those reaosns.. also specialy with projectors.. sometimes in dar areas u need highbeam to read some street signs that are above cut off line on the projectors.. sometimes..

speak from year of driving around with projectors.. and some weeks of stock housing with HID...
