cefiro headlight question

for those of us that have installed these lights we know that after the install u still have a small gap to fill. i bought the automotive weather stripping and i was gonna fill them but im not sure how to go about doing it properly. im not sure if i should just stick it in there or if i should try some other method. also i was wondering if anyone has pics of thier gap. i cut away alot of mtal and i think i got them to fit as good as i can but if some people managed to eliminate the gap totally then i might go and cut some more.
thanks,
will

oh and pics r welcome

i have about a 1/2 inch gap at the most. i just left it that way, i still need to fix the gap either by bodywork or some kind of..... material, i just dont want it to look cheap, why put in nice, clean looking headlights and kill it by some ugly looking rubber piece. yea, i would like to see a pic or two of what people used to fix the gap.

I have a huge gap, but mine need cut more. there is no way to eliminate it, unless you mold them. That are cut shaprer on the bottom, there will always be a gap. Haven't filled mine yet tho

Ask Big_Ham. I saw his Maxima at a local meet here in Tampa, FL. He has the Cefiros and they look damn good. I believe he filled the gap with weather stripping, and you can't tell unless you're like 2 feet away from the car. Even so, it looks great.

I had bout 1/4-1/2 inch @ the bottom and just used weather stripping from the parts store, this install on maximas will never eliminate the gap totally unless you have a custom piece made & fitted @ a body shop, on the I30 the gap is alot less. This is the best pics of how mine sit today, they need a little more customization but they're not bad
go to www.cardomain.com/id/themaximagirl to see how this custom piece I'm talking about looks pg.6

you will always have a cap on the corner light

but use thick, squishy weather stripping ended up finding it at home depot....if you still want gap pics i suppose i can go outside

i actually used two types of weather stripping now that i remember one for the gap and one type for the top of the H4 housing

the top side is butted flush w/the fender, as the light curves away towards the bottom, the gap gets bigger. The bottom front of the cefiros coulnd't be any tighter

Gap can be eliminated by lining the entire headlight surrounding before putting the headlight in. Then put about 2-4 layers on the corners where the gap is. It makes it look great, and the gap goes away. There is no reason that the gap should still be there after using thick 1" weatherstripping.
