wow I think you have all of us beat on performance mods....Post pics of your car. Maybe you should look into rims and suspension. Also, do you live in the US? Please post pics.

Well, when I was on the west coast a few years ago, I saw a couple of factory Turbo Max's...but I never saw under the hood...almost a dead certainty that they are the VG20ET, in which case, it'll produce about the same numbers our NA engines do, just with a little better fuel economy...

Is yours a 3000 series, or 2000 series engine, Turbo?

all my pics are too big, and i dont feel like resizing them, i went out and shot a few last night, ill get more pics and better pics once i go back home over the weekend, but for now if u wanna see some pics u can go to http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/809881 the first page is the exterior, 2nd is interior and 3rd is engine, my turbo is buried under alot of hoses and such, so i dont have any good shots yet, but over the weekend when im home and the car is out in the daylight so i can actually see ill hopefully b able to get a nice pic of it

What size/type of turbo is it? I can't even tell if you have a turbo in there....so I agree you need to get better day pics for sure. How much boost are you running? What type of injectors? Got on the track yet? What kind of exhaust work?

If you have all of this info. Congrats! I want to know if this is an engine out of a late 80's (87-88) turbo 300zx.

im ganna try to answer all the questions but i may forget one or two things, but the turbo is a water cooled turbo from garret, im not sure what size it is because the guy before me put it in, the injectors are 300 i think, the engine isn't from a 300z, but it is almost the exact same, im pretty sure that the stock looking boost gauge came off of a 300, the ecaust is nothing special, just like 2-1/2 inch, i wanna go up to like 3 and get a 4 inch down pipe, as far as the togles in my car, one of them is a preoiler switch, another togles my intercooler, the switch runs to the pump that runs water from my intercooler to my turbo, then the other goes to foglight, but im putting new ones on this weekend, so at the moment i have no fog lights, also im running 7 pounds of boost right now, i dont realy feel much of a need to change it right now, but i probly will up it to around 10 or so for running on the track

Alright, there isn't a factory US turbo maxima. You guys keep forgetting the the N/A 300zx motor is the same motor in the maxima. Only differences is it's transverse, different plumbing, and slightly detuned. Ummm and if you are just realizing you can put the VG30ET into our cars...you need to read more because it's been done already.

Turbo Maxima: Now a couple other things....from the sounds of it, you're not at all very familar with boost. If you want to mod it, I suggest you research and learn more about it in general. For instance....you want to put a 4" down pipe on your car??? What gain's are you going to see with that? Especially when you have a turbo that's most likely not all that big to begin with. I'm thinking you have either a T28 or a T3 in there. So my suggestion, get the car on a dyno and baseline what you have. Be sure to do it with wideband O2. Post the A/F and dyno results here and we'll discuss what you need. Also it couldn't hurt to see what you want the car to do (1/4 times? track times? hp?).

the only difference in my engine between a z motor and the regualr maxima motor are the cams....well and being FWD of course....i was told by the garage my uncle works at that it was an odd motor....not quite Z not quite maxima but i thought not much of it

about his car from what i can see most of the stock intake is still there but instead of comming out of the TB and arround to the box it goes arround into an intercooler, thats what the wide black thing is and the Turbo is RIGHT under the intake (can easly see it in Pic #1 of page 3)

thats what i can get out of it....

hey turbo, welcome and all but find the guy who bulit this thing and get him on here i am sure both of you could help turn our cars into a big contender like the other maximas.....

yeah, i am new to turbo cars, mostly im used to muscle cars so im not even too used to efi, im just kinda looking at mods that i have seen my freinds with turbo cars do, i couldnt get any pics this weekend cause it was rainy, but hopefully soon it will b nicer out, im hoping to get my car to the track and on the dyno soon when im back home, right now im at a college so i cant really do much with it right now, im hoping once summer comes i can pic up another car as a daily driver so that i can work on the maxima more and also i wont have to worry about making gas mileage worse. I'm hoping to get the car on the track some I'm mostly wanting to b able to get a nice 1/4 mile out of it.

Oh one thing to note. On dyno's....when you pick a place, be sure it's a good place. For accurate numbers, it's better to use the same dyno.
