I'm interested in a real brushed aluminum interior trim for my non-Bose '00 GXE. Is there a company that puts out a good, quality product that I can trust won't come apart on me, and that doesn't cost a small fortune, has good customer service... basically, the works???

i don't know of a company to recommend but what i can suggest is that you go with the molded aluminum dash kit. those are the pieces that go instead of your current trim and not the flat POS that sticks on.

 

I dont think they go instead of the originals but over them just in a molded fashion.

 

I had really good luck with Joshua Tree Wood Trim ( http://www.woodtrim.com ), but I did the Rosewood.

Looks like he had the flat non-molded kit in those pictures. The molded kit looks 100x better.

molded kits won't go in place of your existing pieces. try realwooddash.com. i think you can send it the pieces you want changed, and they'll apply the custom finish and send it back. they should offer the brushed aluminum you're looking for. i believe it's like $1 per square inch with 200 square inch minimum. not bad if you ask me. have never purchased anything so i know nothing about their customer service.

 

I have tried flat and molded...flat looks cheap on the center console and molded kits are basically molded stick-ons pieces. I threw the molded pieces in the trash as the fitment was horrible. The center air vent did not clear (rubs) and the center console part was poorly cut. The edges were not cut cleanly. I like the flat pieces for the door switch panels and air vents as they look OK and OEM TE center. It looks much cleaner IMO.

 

Why not just paint the peices yourself? That's what I am going to attempt to do when it gets warmer out...

Not painting... Did that once and I didn't like the way it came out - looked cheesy to me, plus the paint got scratched & I never bothered to go back to fix it.

Do they sell the molded kits on eBay?

 

God, i swear there is this company out there that makes some kick-a$$ interior kits for a bunch of models including the Maxima. Ill try to find out the site, but I really hate most trim kits and these were awesome. Sorry to get everyones hopes up until I find the link, but gimmie a minute.....

Thanks for the info - how can you tell which ones are moulded? On mine, the door panels are rough as is the plate around the shifter; I'd like to clean these up.
