Hey guys, I already own a 2000 Maxima, but I am in the market to get a Maxima for my dad. I saw one in a private ad, and it's a real good deal. It's a 2000 Maxima GLE with 60K, selling for $8500. I think this is a steal.

The only problem is, I have had a bad experience when I first bought my Maxima. Mainly it was the ignition coils, MAF sensor, and 02 sensor. Would there be any way to check to make sure these are ok? I don't want to buy the car, then find out that it needs crazy repairs. I know I should take a mechanic with me to look at the car, but unfortunately I do not have friends...hehe

ask the owner for a repair log and ask for receipts.....coils speaking... the MAF 02-03, are the ones with this problem..we have it but as much as the 5.5 gen....02 sensors well that another story....a long one....
