ticking from wheels?

The other day when it was actually nice around here for a change i had my windows down.... while driving back from school i start to hear a clicking/ticking sound from what sounded was outside the car. when i got home i popped the hood and checked the engine and its not coming from there. Its a sound i dont hear all the time and it gets faster with the car so i dont know if anyone has any feedback as to if this happened to them or what it might be....because im not really sure but would appreciate it.

what conditions are you hearing the ticking? do you hear it on acceleration? if so, is it still there under deceleration or does it go away under braking? when you said it gets quicker when you go faster makes me think the low pad indicator is going off on the front pads. how many miles do you have on the front pads?

inspect your tires for small rocks lodged in the tread or screws/nails stuck in them....those are the likely culprit if it's a "ticking" sound....

i have the exact same noise as we speak.. 19.99$ from tire kingdom tells me that Infiniti Service forgot to put in some sort of spacer when doing brake pads. and it causees the brake pad to rock back-in-forth, (also means your rotor is warped a little bit!)

Myn stops under braking which is why i know its the pad.

yeah i looked for rocks and didnt see any, and it happens on acceleration and decelleration. and it was normal conditions. as far as the brakes go im not really sure. i plan on bringing it by my mechanic to look at this week because i've been goin to him forever and he doesn't charge me just to look at it. so hopefully its a quick fix....

also look at the spring clip on the front brake pads. If the little spring piece is not in the "loop" on the pad, it will tick against the inside of the rim....
