Its Clutch time again

Hey all, I'm replacing the clutch on my VE and was thinking about going Exedy. However after looking on-line (e-bay) I have found a few kits for what seems to be really good prices. My concern is that they are TOO good of a price as compaired to what I can get locally. I was wondering if there was anyone that have purchased and Exedy clutch off of e-bay and if there is anything that should watch out for (aside from the obvious such as a deadbeat seller). The guys who I am looking at seem to have good ratings (both have 98.5% or higher) and they are selling the clutches for about $110-125 USD b4 shipping. (depending on who I go with). There are more than 1 person selling the clutches for that kind of price however I just thought that I would check with you all first since I'm positive that someone on here has done this b4. Hopefully it is legit and that way I can afford a lightened flywheel as well.

IIRC, the Exedy ones on ebay are OEM replacements, not the Stage 1.

Someone help out with this that knows for sure.

they are actually selling a Daikin Clutch and calling it Exedy, they can do that because the manufacturer is the same, and some boxes come marked exedy, but as stated before you're only getting a stock replacement clutch.
I can get you a deal on a stage 1 if you want.

yeah i bought that clutch as a temporary clutch until i finally have money to upgrade. Costs about 125 for the clutch kit. It is just an OEM replacement, so it isn't any better, though they claim a 9% increase in power handling. It came with all the parts, I havent installed it yet (dad is finishing building workshop), but if you''re looking for a spec clutch, this exedy isn't it.

Wow, thanks for the info guys that would have been a real stupid buy as I'm actually looking for a stock upgrade. These guys are really underhanded to when I e-mailed the guy for the part # he gave me the one of the stage 1 but missing the "A" after it.

The part # he gave is 06803. These guys and their scams.

Hey can you PM me an approximate cost on 1 and then 2 stage1's shipped to M1B-2R4. Thanks, Ryan (maybe I can convince shock to get one with me if we get a deal)

Yeah, don't fall for the exedy clutches on ebay. I almost fell into that trap. I bought my Exedy Stage 1 from this group buy: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=321756 The guy is a pleasure to do business with and the shipping is fast. Needless to say, I love that Exedy. I'll probably be buying one for my RSX pretty soon.

Assuming UPSs calculator is correct, $275 shipped is doable, I can probably do 255 ea shipped if you get both together.

well i'd definately like to get a performance clutch this year. exedy, spec or act are my prefered choices. exedy seems to be the cheapest so that's likely what i'll get.
that's a good price brian. lets see how my bank account is doing after rims/tires, engine mounts, body work & paint.
