Need help identifying parts and problem.

Hey all, I just need to know what the part of my car that's leaking oil called.

I took it and got it jacked up and starting taking a look. I don't know any of the names of where the oil is leaking, other then its near the passenger side of the engine area, and near the oil sensor wire (i believe thats what it is called). The leak is also located a little above the oil filter. I looked even closer, and it was a gasket. Now, I just need to know the name of the gasket and the name of the part that contains this oil, is it some kinda "pan".

Sorry, I don't know how else to explain all this, but I need to get names of these parts. lol. Trying to learn and also get this problem fixed, and don't want to be ripped off by mechanics and know alittle about the problem and possible solutions.

Are you sure, or is it the oil pan gasket? Is that possible?

The oil is leaking from the oil pressure sensor, but appears to be a gasket leak, if that makes any sense or if it's possible. Sorry for being unknowledgeable on the issue :-/.

That's ok, nobody knows everything...that's the point of the forums, to learn what you can from others.

As sryth pointed out, see if you can get some pictures of what you're talking about first. It would make it a lot easier for us to help you if you're having a hard time describing the problem.

Good luck!

Is the leak coming from the INNER HALFSHAFT (CV Joint)? Check the AXLE SEAL. Sometimes when the CV's are replaced, the seal may also need to be replaced as well. I've had to do two already on the passenger side...

No, the leak is coming from above the oil pressure sensor.
