Maxima Wave?

howdy guys and gals, as a maxima and jeep owner (cj-7) Im acustomed to the "jeep wave" while passing by other jeeps. Some people find this corny, and I did too at first, but its pretty amusing now and intersting to see how serious some people get about it. My question is why is there no maxima wave goin around? IF WE WANT TO BE A COMMUNITY WE HAVE TO START ACTING LIKE ONE, I NOMINATE MYSELF AS MAYOR OF MAXIMALAND AND JEPHT20 AS TOWN DRUNK

everyone that owns a maxima is too cool to wave or too busy being a bada$s

I usually flash a 'M' with my fingers, like the Westside W but upside-down

cuz, every max i see on the road are either old lady or a old man, they care less about what you drive. i havent seen hookedup maximas around my area, far as i know, im the only one with clear corners on the max. they just drive because its reliable i guess.

Yea, there aren't too many people that would think of maxima drivers as a community, so waving never really has caught on I guess. I got excited though, I've seen like TWO shaved 4th gen's, one even has clear corners in my area!!! I tried to get their attention, but it never really worked. Maybe it's that guy from Brookfield floatin' around...

Eh, bunch of Maxes around here, just none modded that I've seen, but mines the only I30 in town... on a related note, myself, 2 I35's, an older Q45, and a QX56 drove in a sort of caravan to nashville one time, and we didn't even know each other...

The only person around here with a modded Max that I even know of is some kid at my school with a white '96 GXE. He took off the sawblades and put on these really gay looking 15" 5-spokes he "got a good deal on" (for $800...not including tires ) So he's stupid and I don't even talk to him anyway.

Heh, im driving a jeep wrangler right now and im accustomed to the "jeep wave" and thought of that when i saw this post. Ive only seen two other types people wave to each other on the road besides the jeep people, they are bus drivers and postal workers.

That's good to hear, I didn't think the newer crowd was into it as much. I know I got plenty of waves from the CJ guys, moreso than the Wranglers.

I also had an '83: silver/navy, 4.2l i-6 (?), 4-speed manual.

I wave to other 'hooked up' maximas....thou most of the time the average maxima owner does not reconize my car a being a maxima, so they have no clue whats going on....I wave anyway, but then again I am from the country so I wave to plenty of people just passing on the road

i usually pull up next to them, roll down my windows and nod. But then for no apparent reason they take onje look at me, stare at the stop light and take off when it turns green. so much for being friendly, those old ladies are crazy.

NOBODY has a modded max around my area. I just found out there's a white 96 with a supercharger. He wants to race me sometime. I also saw a 97 with clear bumper lights. And a 95 that only had boombox mods and a Greddy that sounds like sh*t. That's it. Other than that the only thing we have is a really, REALLY dense population of CRX's, tegs and other hunduhs with gigantic fart cans. They think they're the sh*t.

The kind of people that normally drive maximas are:

- Old ladies who have no idea what to do with the VQ's power.
- Family guys who were forced to give up big american muscle to get a 4-door grocery getter, so they bought one with power to remind them that they're not bald and impotent yet
- Kids who aren't into performance at all, they're just into bling bling and heavy @ss 19-inch chrome wheels

i think there are like 8 modded maxes around the valley. every time i see one the other driver just stares at my car trying to see all i've done, then if there's time we do the "wassup fool" nod

There's like 6-7 riced out ones within half mile from me. Seen 4-5 mostly stock ones around here also (clear bumper lights and maybe some tint)

Ninos, saw you last week near McCormick & Devon
