I don't know, but I don't understand the concept of a c/f hood. Can someone please fill me in on this? I mean to me, it looks like a car that was in the body shop for body work and got a new hood that hasn't been painted yet. I guess it's just not me. It's his car though. To each his own. I'm not knocking it, I just don't understand. Please don't flame me too bad. I just need an explanation. Maybe it would look better on a black car.

brand ?
weight of cf hood ?

best thing to do would be to have it painted and get black hood pins ! if i ever do a cf hood again, thats what i would do. nice modding though !

Jus curious, the white spots in this pic, are they in the clear coat or are was the hood dirty?

I think the true purpose of CF for the tuner market is mainly cosmetic.
In true racing applications CF is used for its strength and light wieght.
The CF items that are made available to us isnt strong at all.
Its just for cosmetic purpose only. If your looking for a lightweight item, and plan on painting it just go with fiberglass. Its cheaper and just as light.

i know a guy who drives a wrx w/ a carbon fiber hood. one day he was drivin on the highway when a cop just flew by him using the emergency lane and kicked up rocks everywhere on his car, especially his hood. he ended up chaisin the cop down to his house and demanded for repairs that were made by the rocks. the cop agreed to fix the damages done mostly to his hood cause its carbon fiber (were some chips and cracks)

Looks great, fitment looks spot on. If you add a CF lip to that, that will look amazing, especially with the gold emblem.

then rims and drop and that is one sexy ass max

i'm not sure about the hood pins... b/c the hood doesn't rattle at all, plus i don't want to drill holes in the hood

The smart thing to do is use hood pins.
Their is not much holding the latch to the underside of the hood.
It wouldnt be too hard for it to break away from the fiberglass underside.
Just a word to the wise.

Says you.
I agree to wheels and a drop, but I think cars look just as good with a cf hood with or with out a kit.

I agree, carbon has a much higher tendancy to be wavy. So painting it will be stupid. People will be like, "your ______ is all fxcked up." When its clearly carbon you don't have to say anything.

get hood pins now. imagine going 80 and the hood flies up. you could die because you don't want some hood pins. they make gunmetal and locking hood pins...just get them.

Seeing this makes me feel a lot better. I bought that same hood(brand new for 319) and I've been kind of worried about the fitment. It looks real good on your car. I love carbonfiber on white. Hopefully it looks just as good on blue.
