Anyone have info on SportCompactPro.com sponsorship?

Okay, I just got a call from SportCompactPro.com to sponsor my car. They called me to confirm the transaction, but of course theres a filing fee. Before I do this, does anybody know ANYTHING about them? Should I do it? They said I was approved for $12,000.00 sponsorship and I just dont know if its a good deal. Whats up? Let me know!

what does that actually mean, a $12,000 sponsorship. you should talk to steve, he posts on here all the time about it, y2ksteve i think his name is.

EDIT, nevermind, thats sportcompactonly, forget about what i said. but is this like that carsponsorships.com, or racer x thing that has been goin on for a while? people usually dont just get sponsored out of the blue like that.

Don't do it. What you actually get is a discount on parts if you order it from their vendors. There was a guy on the sr20forum that did it and turned out be be lame. Think about it.........unless your car has something special done to it why would they just GIVE you $12,000???

$12,000 is a lot for someone that just applied for it. Did they ask to get a look at your car, car records(accidents-legal crap)?

Sounds fishy to me, if it was $500 or somewhere around there it would seem more reasonable.

Taken on a thread from the SR20forum.

"I have the same sponsorship. I paid them $79 last November and I have yet to order anything from them because no discounting prices the way they make it sound like they're doing. Everything I've wanted order I've been able to order elsewhere cheaper. They can only match prices. What kind of ish is that? I'm about to call them and tell to shove the $79 up there ***. On top of that they apply the difference between the sponsorship price (usually just wholesale) and list price towards the $10K sponsorship limit. What's the benefit? You can shop around and get better deals and direct from distributers. That's just my 2 cents on Racer X."

not the EXACT same company but the same deal.

its just basically a scam to get you to buy thru their vendors. while not really a "scam", per say, they claim you are getting a discount if you buy thru their supplied and provided vendors. so the $80 buys you into their network, where they provide you with some deals that supposedly no one else can get. but like that quote from the SR20 forums, you can probably find them other places just as cheap.

just take a look at your car, and see how modded it is. and then ask your self why people on here, with cars that are more modded, arent getting these offers.

Let's see....the application fee goes to a STREET RACER's fund?? I'm sure it's a reputable company, who devotes your fee to illegal activities
