My Car got broken into.....

Yep it happened....I woke up and got dressed went out side to see my passenger side glass sitting next to my car....I was so pissed...they priyed my window out....did damage to the side of my car the black part and to the silver trim....I will get pics of that later...but...now....I have a hole in my dash board....it happened to be raining so I took my car to a glass place to get that window replaced so my car wouldn't get soaked....my head lights and such were on....about a mile away from my house, my clock, all my gauges and all my lights (inside and out) went out....my brake lights and turn signals still work but I am wondering what happened to my electrical, my head lights, side lights don't work when they are on....my gauges don't work...I am scared of what else I am going to find that doesn't work...I only have a pic of my dash with my camera phone I am trying to get a digital camera to take more pics.....

BEFORE:

AFTER:

here is what they took:
Clarion head unit
Clarion amp
my class ring
My school books
my Ipod

EDIT: Almost forgot to mention....insurance looks like they won't pay for anything that was stolen...my head unit and amp, I didn't tell them that I put that in so they can't cover it or some **** like that....and since my class ring, school books or Ipod were attached to the car they arn't covered under car insurance....and home owners, might not cover those my mom said....so that is another thing that pissed me off

[QUOTE= Honestly now why does someone steal school books?[/QUOTE]

Because I know where I goto highschool, every year I pay 700$ in books. I don't know if it is lower for public schools, ut if you goto private school, that REALLY sucks man.. Sorry.. Doesn't your Ipod have insurance? I would be most pissed about that. But to fill that big a$$ hole, buy that headunit that a couple people have on here, good price and looks awesome.. Sorry about the car though, hope you catch them

if the car was in your driveway the class ring and stuff should be covered by homeowners. i think it just has to be on your property not in the street. thats why when i lived with my parents they added on to our driveway when i got my car, so it would be ON the property and not in the street. my friend had a radio stolen from his car at a friends house, and our friends homeowners ins. covered it when his ins. did not.

sry to hear about your car. im also always worried about my car getting broken into since my audio system costs a lot of money

i got the kenwood ddx7015 which costs a lot plus my subs and stuff.

if i were to tell the insurance company that i have this, would they raise my premium and if yes how much. Also what amount would they pay me if it gets stolen???????

Thank You

im wondering about this too. i went and got the ddx and it cost a grip. does your premium go up when you fax them receipts as evidence? i would turn michael douglas on some mercenary sh*t if that was gone in the morning and insurance wouldn't cover it.

anyone have an idea of increased payments for claiming expensive add-ons?

They should pay

I work for an insurance carrier. I'm an underwriter. Your company should pay if those items were attached to your car. (stereo for sure, amp if it was attached to the car) As for the IPOD & school books, they should definately be covered by your homeowner's insurance. If you don't have receipts, pictures showing these items in your vehicle will do.

hey man... if u didnt let the insurance co. about the aftermarket radio and stuff...just try to get a receipt saying that it was installed 2 days ago... I hadda do this when my car got into a crash... My buddy who installed the stuff for me about a year ago without receipts wrote out a receipt for me that he did it 2-3 days ago... that way you have an excuse that u were going to let them know about the aftermarket stuff and you didnt have enough time. I mean the insurance co's rape us with their charges, so theres nothing wrong it getting a lil more out of them... so help me GOD!

havne't read the posts, but can't you say your stock HU was stolen, that is worth lots of money, especially OEM, they would have to cover you on that. say you had the 6cd in dash one. say it was bose. maybe a little too late, but talk to them, ask to cover you on stock parts.

The company said they would pay (state farm) but my agent says that since I didn't report to him that they wouldn't pay so I don't know....

Your agent sucks - go over his head if you have to, and then definitely change insurance companies (or at least change agents) because this guy is one of "those" agents that will screw you out of future claims.

What they do is sell them to college bookstores for easy money(and if they are brand new, those crooks get big easy money).

My point is yes you pay $XXX.XX for the books but try selling them, you get like $0.xx for them. Why would a car thief steal books that are heavy and take time to carry away. I would guess that it's someone he knows somehow...

What I am really worried about, is that none of my guages work (mph, rpm, etc...) my clear corners head lights nothing works.....And the window that got broken, now when I try to automatically roll it up, it will go up then come back down 1/4 of the way.....anyone know what that is? Is it I jus shorted a buch of fuses all at once, bc my stero is not there or is my electrical fcuked?

I haven't driven my car since friday so don't think I still drive it in its condition...I just want to make sure that it will be the same after it is all fixed like it was before, it got broken into.....

i feel you dude... i had my stuff broken into christmas eve. I really wanted to go vigilante and kill every mother fk'er who I saw breaking into or stealing a car. I felt insulted when that happened... so now im thinking of putting razor blades where the hood latch and popper is so when some fk nut tries to break into my car, it wont be so easy to disable the factory alarm and thier fingers would get all messed up. Damn thiefs...
