shifting for optimal speed...

im just wondering how you all shift (manual) when you are going for speed. Do you shift all through 1-5 gears or skip some? At what rpm do you shift?

Haha yeah today I did a 3rd gear start rolling at just about 2mph. It was halarious cuz I told my girlfriend that people do 3rd gear starts when they want start out really slow and don't care about picking up speed fast.

Why would you start in 3rd? It wears your clutch faster.

Optimal shift points for a manual:

sticky In the 1/4 mile forum. It's very useful and very easy to find.

No don't skip a gear. Our gears are no where near close enought to skip one.
