18x9 Front, 18x10 Rear --- too wide?

I am buying a new set of rims (hopefully) this is the discription of the times tires, but they seem VERY wide... but he says they will fit my car... but i am having my doubts... any idea's? what is the widest we can go? 8.5/9 right?

i just want to make sure.. thanks.

---description---

I'm selling my 18s due to some financial trouble at the moment. They are called TR Motorsports Typhoon (aka Seneka Sport)...
18x9 Front with 245/40/18 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S
18x10 Rear with 255/45/18 Nitto 555 Extreme Performance

This is a most amazing combination -- lightweight, wide, and sticky...

cool to see more RI maxes on the org!

anyways, ya 18x10 is REALLY wide. u have your car lowered or anything? having wider rear wheels doesnt help our cars since they're not rear wheel drive cars. but i dunno. i would imagine they would look fugly too on the car sticking out.

Ummm, you failed to specify the offset. Without that, the answer is = no solution.

It can fit depending on offset and tire size...

Right....I'm sure the rims will fit, you just need the correct offset and correct tire size.....

what kind of suspension do you have? if you plan on upgrading to coilovers and slamming your ride....plan on rolling your fenders becuz I bet they will rub like crazy if your slammed

Great choice! 19s will look sexy on a 2k2....do you have a pic of the rims?

I'm not sure what your goals are....but if your going for performance....225 width is pretty damn skinny for a 2k2....but if your goal is just blinging around town....225s will be fine

The lower you go, the less the tires stick out of the fender in the front, therefore no need to roll the fenders. The increased camber on bumps also avoids fender rubbing issues.

right...but that means the rim/tire is going to be rubbing on the inside....most people who are slammed usually don't rub on the outside becuz they buy the correct offset wheel.....but they do rub on the inside.....I rub too (only a little), but i'm running a high offset wheel which is not ideal for slammed cars and my fenders aren't rolled....i bet if i got my fenders rolled....i wouldn't rub at all

so you might want to get your fenders rolled if you plan to go that low with such wide rim

245s on an 8 wide is within spec and fits almost perfectly...a perfect fit would be 245s on 8.5 wide....so to answer your question, NO you do not need to return/change your rims to run 245s
