Tein S-Tech Springs....Got a QUESTION

ok, Well i'm a little confused........The tein S tech Springs, are 2.2 inches in the front and 1.8 in the back........So like...wouldn't it make the car a little un even in a way? like is that how all springs are? cause i'm a little confused about getting them....

Wondering that too. But isn't the front higher than the rear with stock springs? So it would all even out.

Its a pretty even drop, I've seen many pics with S-tech and it looks good. Car wouldnt run un-even, I'm sure people who have s-techs wont mind posting a pic but from what I've heard its a pretty even drop.

yeah, but i mean i guess 2.2 and 1.8 isn't a crazy difference....but i'm asking like, is that correct? are all springs uneven for the front and back?

it doesnt sound like it would be uneven but from what I've seen its a pretty even drop. I'm going s techs so I could get some detailed close up pics if you dont see any before I get to take them.

Ok, i'm going to go check it out too....but like on Ebay, I've seen like shocks that are even number for front and back.....and i've seen some that are like 1.5 in the front and like 1.3 i nthe back.....so maybe it is something to do with the car?

just stay away from sprint springs, and drop zone and you'll be fine.

yes Sprint Springs give s 2" drop like the S-tech but ride pretty harsh (from what I've hard a lot about)

Drop zone are another brand of springs 1.5F 1.3R I believe.

Tein drop is nice...the rear sits higher with no junk in the trunk, a system makes it even. I have pics on my car domain

I also have S-techs. The drop doesn't look uneven at all. Checked the gap today with my fingers and the back is only slightly higher.

It evens out nicely if you have subs in the trunk.

the back is slightly higher on the stech's on the front its a nice even and clean drop as for the rear it would probably be a finger more. The biggest mistake I did with the STECH's is that I didn't get a larger profile tire which I could've with a larger sidewall therefore closing the gap in a bit more. I have 215/40/17 not enough. You need at leaest 45's+ if you have 17's on stech's.

personally i don't think the difference in front versus rear drop difference is noticeable from the side. I have been looking at many suspension setup pics and they all look great. i am deffinitely getting s-techs and illuminas by the
end of the week!

valley girl in tha house.............. YozhiksMax, sorry, but you say "like" "like" every other "like" word. and its "like" really annoying me. "like" i dont mean to be rude, and it did give me a good laugh at 2 in the morn, but just type normal. please.

and to be on topic... S-Tech's drop is a little uneven, but very subtle. it kinda gives it a rake look, but it looks so natural most dont notice it. from what i've read, when they settle, the front drops more than the rear, due to the engine weight obviously, so that would mean it will be more noticable. im not an expert, but i have been readin loads on these springs since they are in my plans

I have the progress lowering springs on my car with the KYB AGX adjustables, being able to change the stiffness helped some but either way when you drop your car the ride will change. The ride height will level out after the drop. You'll love the way it looks, you'll get a real aggressive stance to the car. I have Tokico Illumina HP's in my garage and im thinking about swithchin to the Tein-S springs. Any Suggestions?

uh, Tokico Illumina HP's? hmm, is that a new strut? Is it sometimes adjustable and sometimes not?
sorry, but just wondering what you meant.

oh, and yes, put your s-techs on. what do you have now? unless they ride really nicely, the s-techs will not be quite as nice, but will give it a better stance.

yes the illuminas are a 5-way adjustable strut/shock.

they sell usually for about $480 shipped.

help if you can!!! i have the tokico blue struts and weapon R pro cercuit coilovers. the ride is horrible. the sprigs bottom out every ****ing bump and when i turn my weels i get a poping sound and a scrapeing sound from the springs. also to make things worse the rear shock broke. i hit a bump and the cup that holds the spring on the shock just broke off and my car droped!!! i am so stressed out. what do you guys suggest? if i switch to a different shock what should it be? and what about the coil overs? i want coilovers not springs, but im afraid that the new ones will do the same. if anyone has coilovers on their maxima please let me know what your setup is. if you can, email me at ilya_is_russian@yahoo.com
thanks guys!

invest some money in some nice TRUE coilovers - if you go cheap you will regret it. look in the group deal forum for more choices. they currently have deals going with ksport and D2 coilovers, and probably some others

If you want to keep your current struts though just go with normal springs. S-techs give a nice drop as you can see from the pics on this page

I had progress springs, then I switched to Eibach springs and now I am on S-Techs:

In terms of drop alone, I was least happiest with Eibachs and the most happy with the S-Techs. The progress gave me the most smooth ride of the bunch.

The progress fronts were higher than my Tien Stech fronts, and the rear was about the same as the Stechs.

Here is a pic of my car on Progress Springs:

Here is a pic of my car on Tien S-Tech Springs:

hey thismight sound dumb but if i get the springs can i temporary use my stock struts? cuz i want to lower it so bad and asap but i dont have the funds at the moment to get the struts with it too.. also woul it be a bad idea to maybe ride temporary with back stock struts and maybe front illuminas?

also is there any other way to get the s-techs in a different color? that green isnt too appealing to me.. i was hopin maybe blue?

Be patient and wait until you can afford all 4 stuts as well. There is no point wasting the time/effort/money to install the springs, then have to do it again when you need to change the struts. Also not to mention the poor ride quality of stock struts with lowering springs. Be patient.
