My Y pipe

Got my Y pipe today. It'll be my first mod other than lights. Can't wait to install it. Have to do more reading and get some tools. Hope I could afford some more mods. For those who use wapspeed, how's the Y pipe treating you?

Sounds good to me. I will keep the stock muffler...for time being . Either suspension or engine swap will be the next thing

good meaning gains-wise? of course, good meaning clear and clean sound... i disagree, i am talking about the super-flo though, not the regular lined flex style warpspeed

nobody's forcing you to read them man, i agree though, there have been an unnecessary amount of posts, people should just learn how to read other threads rather than be lazy and start their own new one

I dont understand why people make it seem like WSP super flo is the ultimate, bees-in-the-can free y-pipe when this thread seems to indicate that its not all that. Plus the diameter of the pipe towards the flex section got smaller. And whats with all the welded sections. Couldn't they have made the pipe w/o too much sections? Those who have tried it and posted in that thread aren't impressed much other than the fact that its considerably quieter than the previous design.

I've been reading most of the thread from this forum. According to my budget, wsp is affordable. I never owned or mod a Maxima, bought one in Feb 98 Max black on black manual transmission, this is going to be my first mod ever on Max. I don't know if i'm going to like it or not, but I have to give it a try.

Cattman sounds really good, but just not in my budget.

Questions about Installation Instructions

I have 2 questions about the installation. I am going to buy my budget y-pipe when I get my next paycheck so why not ask now. Step 5 says, "Remove O2 sensors using an oxygen sensor socket." Is there actually a tool to remove the sensor or does it mean to simply take the sensor out of the socket? My next question is that step 9 says "place the diamond gaskget on the cat section." Can I assume budget will send that with the pipe? And last question ... can you reset the ECU just by using the self-diag thing on the side that blinks out codes?

1. you can use an adjustable wrench if you want but if you go to autozone and tell them you need an O2 sensor removal tool they will "loan" you one.
2. that gasket should come with the pipe - at least mine did from WSP
3. you shouldnt have to reset the ecu or anything - at least i didnt

I kept the stock gasket connecting the y-pipe to the cat simply because the OEM Nissan one seemed to be of higher quality than the Budget one. I did use the supplied crush gaskets which connect to the headers though.

There's an instruction how to install y pipe from warpspeed website. Here's the link:
http://www.warpspeedperformance.com/install.htm

Just opened the packet last night. Here's a few pics for warpspeed super flo.
