Switching gauge face

I just bought my friend's old white se gauges off his '96 maxima. I plan on putting into my '95 GLE, which as of now has black gauges. I ran into a road block, how do I take the needles off the gauges to remove the white faces, I'll have to do the same thing to my real cluster later on to put the white faces in and remove the black ones. Thanks

you dont. if you do youll have problems either getting them back on, getting them to work or read correctly once theyre back on, etc etc etc. And I doubt youll find a shop that will take the needles off either, or be liable for their work when the needles have to be removed.

Just switch the whole gauge units with the needles. Then you just unscrew from the back of the cluster, pop them in and your done.

You need to calibrate the needles prior to removing them. Then you need to pop them off, wherein the troubles can occur. If you are not careful in removing the needles you can damage the servos and permanently ruin the cluster. It's a risky move, but still doable. I have a write-up on my cardomain page, check it there...

You may want to talk to Silvermax2k2. He's also done this before.
