I recently(3 weeks ago) put on new EBC Greenstuff pads along with new OEM rotors. I have noticed while driving through town I get a ehh, ehh, ehh sound from the passenger side front wheel.. When I hit the brakes then it stops, but once I am off the brakes its back again. I also seem to notice if I swerve right(take weight off passenger side) the sqeeking stops? I put new brake pins along with the brakes/rotors. Any Ideas on what it could be, I have been trying everything to figure it out w/ no luck.

ive been having that problem as well and people told me to just change the pads.
i dont get it...

 

Did you put the anti squeek lube on the shims?

 

I didnt put anti squeek lube on. Im not so sure that is the problem, because the drivers side is fine?

That is quite a possibility.. I dont feel any pulsing when applying the brakes though?

Hmmm... well, it sounds like a warped disc... or worse, a bad hub. Ugh.

Hope it's nothing, though.

 

I'm getting a qeird sound on the same side when I've driven the car a little bit. Sound like rubber on rubber squeal but it's not the CV boots. It may be the bearings.

 

im hoping its not the wheels bearings...

 

Pads with wear indicators, like the OEM pads, will squeak or chirp when they need replacing; this noise is the metal "sensor", which is part of the pad, rubbing on the rotor. This noise will usually disappear when the brakes are engaged. Glazed rotors will give off a squeak too. In this case you can get a shop to cut the rotors.

In your case, you have new rotors and pads. I'd say check to see if a piece of metal is sticking out or the rotor didn't get a non-directional finish. I'm guess the install went fine, so the finish should be the problem. Most new rotors should come with a finish on the rotor surface that looks really scratchy. This prevent squeaking noise when something touches it. For example, the brake pads. Even though the brake pads are held in place, there still is a little play for the pads to move freely. A bad finish on the rotor would look like a old record disc. You will be able to see circular lines. This gives off a squeak when someting hit its. Before the disc was sent out, the manufacturer should have used some sand paper or a wizzer to scratch up the surface.

 

Pads are new, so it cant be wear indicators.. I have a feeling it is a warped rotor.
