How difficult is it to rebuild calipers?
I'm not sure 100% yet, but the gf just called her her 95 is grinding while going down the road. Its only or a bit then goes away, so i'm not sure if its just the pads, or if the caliper is sticking. If it is the caliper, how hard is it to rebuild them?
Autozone has rebuild kits cheap, and the rotors are only $19 each. Since she's not a speed freak, and only drives a few miles to work each day, I dont think the cheap rotors will be an issue. This is my first time working on brakes since I was in High School 13 years ago, but between my haynes manual, my nissan manual, and the Motorvate.ca site, I should be able to do it this evening. Thank god it doesnt get dark till later on in the evening. If I dont have to rebuild the calipers I'll be a happy man, cause then its just swapping the pads and rotors, without trying to bleed the system, etc.
Anything I need to look out for?

Are these the rear brakes? I just had a problem with the right rear caliper piston seizing. I had no noise whatsoever, but my brakes still had 40% left to the wear bar. I haven't worn a set of pads out yet as my car has 58K, mostly highway miles on it and the front pads still have 50% left.
I suspect all she needs is new brake pads and she has just hit the wear bar, which apparently results in noise.
I went with rebuilt calipers and new pads on both rears.
From what I gather, you're better off just getting rebuilt calipers and exchanging the cores. The mechanic I went to suggested not machining the rear rotors as they are thin to begin with. He always machines front rotors. My rotors were in very good shape and I didn't replace them.

I rebuilt one of my fronts because the boot was torn. Piece of cake. You will need air to force the piston out all the way. The hardest part was getting the boot back around the piston, the inner "O" ring is easy. I installed the boot into the piston bore 1st and then worked the boot around the piston. The only thing that makes it hard is the grease you have to use. Everything gets pretty slippery. Very very very easy to do. I bought the rebuild kit from Nissan ~$20 and it rebuilds 2 calipers. Good luck.

Also you might wanna have some emery paper handy. If they are sticking you can sand down the core a little bit or if there is rust in the core you will need to sand that out.

Well I did it last night, and other than snapping a wheel stud and a bolt head, it all went very smoothly. Pep boys had rotors for $19 each, and Raybestos pads for $19 a set, so I was able to do the whole things for $70 after tax. Took a little less than 2 hours not including drive time back and forth from PepBoys for new bolts. After the first wheel, the second one took 30 minutes total.
Now to do mine next weekend .Shame I dont have the funds for a BBK with the z calipers and cobra rotors

Were they front or rear calipers? I don't think I'd attempt to rebuild my rears, the built-in ebrake design has like 5x as many pieces as the fronts.
