Carbon Fiber Everything

I've been going back and forth about my interior for a while. I was going to fiberglass everything paint, call it done. But everything's done that... in ATL anyway. I was thinking about wraping everything in carbon fiber.

Buy a good Sq. ft of carbon.

Cover interior parts with resin, apply fiber cloth with natural brushe QUICKLY. Coat with resin, float coat several times to get a smooth clear finish.

Anyone esle work with fiber cloth before?

hmmm. a "flood coat". that seems weird. everything else doesnt seem to be hard to do.( maybe just laying down the c.f. weave clean)i wonder if the center console would be to big to do for my first try. hmmmm. what piece are you gonna do first? i say do it if you have the time and know how.

I was looking on ebay and found a nice weave pattern with an adhesive backing. I'll probubly try the glove box door first, lol. I have a whole aditional interior to work on.

the CF stickers look cheap and tacky IMHO

Are you trying to make replacement parts, or just cover the stock parts? If you are trying to make replacement parts you may run into fitment issues. Really I think too much CF looks tacky. I have the gauge bezel but thats about it, everything else is brushed aluminum. JMHO though.

I think it would be a pain, dont try to do it inside the car. CF sheets are spendy.

not stickers, real sheets with 3m adhesive behind it. It just make's iteasier for laminating. From what I'm seeing. Yeah.... covering the part parts.

ok i think i know what you're talking about.

it is CF cloth already coated with a gel coating (resin coating) that you can just place on the piece and then once it dries you can just add the epoxy over it?

if not then you're pretty much referring to a sticker because i don't think you can form real carbon fiber after having resin on it...and no you can't just slap on a piece of raw CF and leave it there.

yeah what i got from reading that guys writeup you linked to, its the first thing DanNY said, the CF cloth.

this sounds cool, but not sure what you would do carbon fiber inside, i think you could wrap the mirrors and it would look cool...
