Pics of new Exedy stg 2

Basically, I bought an Exedy stage 1 w/ Fidanza in early March. I put about 1500 miles on it, and next thing I know the disc breaks a spring.

I send it back to Exedy/Daikin - it takes them almost 3 weeks to find it cuz they 'lost' it in a wherehouse move. I call em up and tell them to overnite me a stage 2 for my troubles - they say ok and I got it this morning.

The pressure plate is a lot thicker it seems, kinda heavy. Almost polished too! New TO bearing also and disc.

Im hoping this wont happen again, Im tired of droppin my tranny...

I wish mine has less miles on it when it broke. But at close to 50k I doubt they would have done anything. PLus it was the T\O bearing that broke. I miss my stage 1. The oem is ok, but nothing liek my stage 1 was

Do you have a lightened flywheel? How's it perform with your spray?

Nice Stage II btw....

couldn't tell ya. clutch does nothing but slip when I spray the car. fidanza is coming out and OEM is going in along with a stronger clutch but I haven't decided on which one yet.

Why in the world would you put the p.o.s. OEM flywheel back in?

I had the same problem with my Exedy Stage 1, a spring flew out of the disc and wreaked havok as it bounced around. Decided to stay away from Exady clutches unless it's one of their carbon setups. My new clutch/flywheel assembly is much stronger and way lighter.

This really sucks to hear. Wish all you guys were around when I put mine in.

$tillenmax2k, what do you mean by wreaked havoc? Did it damage the tranny at all or just further damage the clutch?

The spring bounced around inside the pressure plate housing, and some pieces of metal that held in the spring fell through the other side and tore up my flywheel. A few small pieces of shrapnel made it out of the clutch housing and bounced around the bell housing of the trans. I had to drive 50 miles to the repair shop, with no use at all of the clutch. Had to get another flywheel also, which sucked because it had been done a few weeks prior. There was no way i was going back to stock flywheel.

because a lightweight aluminum flywheel isn't really intended for use at a drag strip. when I launch on slicks the light weight of the fidanza doesn't have enough inertia to keep spinning and causes my car to bog off the line. and plus i just don't trust that Fidanza anymore. Ever since I put it in I've gone through 2 clutches and am about to pull this current one out and put in an Exedy stage 2.
