That's not too bad

I think the Maxima is 158-162 HP at the wheels and 174 ft-lbs of tq. Of course this is a 97, so 5th gens can breathe easier after clarifying that. I definitely know that car wan't designed for raw power...as we see, it lacks. But it's a pretty all around good car that I'd spend $20K on. Yeah, until they are $20K...I'll never own one. I just think they are overpriced and over-rated. Supercharge that sucker, drop the price, make a 6-speed manual, and we'll talk.

What do they produce at the flywheel? Which one loses more power at the wheels FWD or RWD, I guess it depends on the internals of each

I put my 1997 I30 on the dyno and I ran 146 HP at the wheels with 157 ft-lbs of torque...

With my new CAI, I ran 153 HP at the wheels and 162 ft-lbs of torque...that's not too bad compared to the IS 300...

Not sure, prolly 220.
FWD or RWD doesn't matter, manual usually has less drivetrain loss than automatic.

Those things hold the road like they're glued to it, though. A 6 speed would make it a helluva fun car.

FWD cars get more hp to the wheels than a RWD auto or manual.

Yep, put a auto maxima (4th gen) and it will only be around 150-160. Not much different. That is why our cars will prove to be good races. Our 5 speeds will put out a bit more though, 160-170.
