Guess what's coming to North America in 2004?
The Nissan Skyline will be available in North America in the 2004 model year under the Infiniti label ... 4WD 4WS ...
Apparently they're having a hard time meeting North American specs ... (in Canada) they're having a hard time with the 5kph or 15kph collision tests ... the Skylines apparently suck!
This was from the owner of a Nissan dealership here in Toronto ...
I also saw the new Q45 & test drove a G20 with BBS 17" rims & Eibach lowering kit .. what a sweet ride!!!!!!!!!!

In 2004 the current generation GT-R (R34) will no longer be out on the new car market. The 2004 GT-R will be a different car then the current GT-R, something which sure as hell hasn't even been finished being engineered yet. Meaning, how could it be having a hard time passing crash tests if it doesn't exist?

They are probably developing the R35 right now. New cars are always years in the making.
according to the latest ive heard. the xvl concept is now officially the next jdm skyline. and since infiniti's also getting a car based off the xvl concept, its safe to assume we'll be getting the skyline. but when i say skyline, i dont mean the skyline gt-r. im talkin bout the 4 door sedan skylines. the gt-r is supposed to separate from the skyline family and become a beast of its own. all this summed up in one word: sweet.
It is not surprising that it doesn't pass crash standards. Only certain European makes in their domestic (i.e. European) form pass North American crash standards. There are plenty of Japanese models which don't meet US crash standards, such as the Mitsu Evo VII (or it is VIII now), Skyline, etc...
Hmmm... not sure
I don't think I'd go for it. After all, a couple of years after that they'll probably come out with a fresher, better model... wait a sec... this isn't the 5th Gen board. Sorry 'bout that. Wrong forum.
