Chroming automotive parts

Can anyone recommend a place that can chrome automotive parts and has a relatively quick turn-around time? I am in NY and I want to get my intercooler piping chromed. I was going to just have them polished but... the piping from the PFI turbo kit is steel, not aluminum and the polishing guy said that steel will rust after polishing so its not worth it.....now I want to get them chromed. Any info would be great, locations of places, phone numbers, pricing, turnaround time etc....

Normally to get stuff chromed in NY they have to ship it to Cali anyway so I figure maybe I can try to cut out the middle man and get it done faster. I could'nt find anyone that actually does it in NY. Thanx...

chroming in NY is illegal as per state laws. Youll have to find someone who has parts chromed out of state. The guy i went to was in Bayville, LongIsland the shop was called V-Twins. He was very pricey but good. Sorry i dont have his number. But i do know he brought the parts i gave him to NJ at his other shop for the chroming process.

Thanx man... my website has'nt been updated in over a year too so, by the time I'm finished w/the car it should be hot.

I know there are actually alot of guys that chrome "under the table" in NY but its hard to get a hold of them and my car is sitting around until I get this done...

Deac, you know that there is a powdercoat that looks just like polished aluminum. I think it is called chromex. Check out cardana24's car(the MOTM). He had his charge pipe done.

I know a very reputable shop call GG buffing here in montreal, this is where I get all my chrome stuff done, they have been in business for 30 years. I had my both rear caliper assembly chromed recently, the turn around was 2-3 weeks, but the jobs was really well done, show quality as they call it. PM me and I'll give you their adress and phone number so you can deal directly with them,

I researched this also but from what I understand, after you chromex the pipes, the guy told me after a while they get a yellowish tint to them. So Thats out... I've always wanted chrome but polsihing was alot more convienient. Believe it or not, the price quotes I've gotten are pretty much the same for chrome or polishing. Since I cant polish them now... I'll go w/chrome. Thats for all your input fellas... its been helpful.

BTW Nismo... I never wrecked my car... {{{knock wood}}}

Chrome is so much better than polishing, and it create a strong barrier against rust.

Like people said, powdercoating is the cheaper alternative. I like to mix and match. Some chrome here and there. Some powdercoating here and there. I've seen engine bay that's all chromed out. It was more of a distraction with everything bling bling.
