97 maxima acting funny.. any help plz

ok recently i got rid of my ebay cai and did the "filter drop" conversion (i may have not put the sensors back so this may be a problem)... and also i put in ground wire kit... oh also to add on my battery died recently and had to get jumped but been turnin on fine after the jump

ok so this is what happens now.. everytime before ive driven the car for a few hours... ill put it into drive and put only a little gas into it to see if it does it again and it does.. (if anyones ever driven an old car that you have you turn on by pushin on the gas or car where it dies and jerks at a stop) my car does this.. only at a cold start when i havent driven in a few hours.. ill push the gas a bit and it slightly jerks as if the engine is about to die and i give it a little more gas to bring it back... and after half a minute of this it starts to drive normally...

i have no clue what it could be other then the misplaced sensors from the intake but this isnt something im completely sure of

i dunno, maybe it is.
when the last time it was changed(if there was a last time)
my car would sputter and jerk when taking off and i had to really get on the gas to fix it. i thought my clutch was bad but i changed the ff first and it got 100% better. btw the filter was so dirty black fuel would come out of it lol

I had this same problem. I recently got my car not too long ago and it was slightly neglected. Things to consider is cleaning your throttle body and cleaning your IACV first. Afterwards if you still getting the same problem than you might have to get a little dirty. This past weekend I took the whole throttle body out cleaned that inside than I took off the intake manifold cleaned the hell out of that too. Remember to check all your vacuum hoses for leakes or cracks and make sure that your car is idling around 700 rpms.

I am happy to say that after I cleaned everything all out my car doesn't jump at all after a cold start and I have full throttle response back.

IACV = idle air control valve. I suggest you buy a Haynes manual. However, it won't tell you how to clean the throttle body (it suggests not to) or the IACV. Read the TB write-up on motorvate.ca. Also read the stickies and the FAQs and you won't get flamed.
