Or call DaveB at South Point Nissan in TX. His number is in the FAQs.

I'm sure there are other places online too, just it....

BTW, it is washable... Try washing it before you spend any $$$... Mild soap foam and gentle rinse...

It's a filter, so yes, it gets dirty. Is it neccesary to have one in there? That is debatable. I washed mine once but it never retained it's original shape after that. I think it's time for me to at least get under there and clean it as I hear leaves and pine needles rattling around in there when I turn the AC on.

I started seeing some aftermarket ones around (here in Canada at Canadian Tire stores) so they should also be available in States... They were a few $$ cheaper than OEM...

I've got 86K on mine and haven't changed it. Looks like something I should at least look at. My A/C works great and I don't notice any weird odors, any other symptoms?

Do you just use regular hand-washing soap or dishwashing soap to clean?

i changed my 2 weeks ago. it's very easy to do if you take all 6 screws out at which point the entire glove box will just come out. my filter was half black with little pieces of leaves and bugs all over it. and this was after only 35,000 miles. i got a new one because i felt mine was too dirty to wash.

I don't think the original filters in the 5th gen were washable. I think that started with the 5.5's. I could be wrong though.

For $40 just replace it. Unless you like to breathe dank air.

^Mine was 45 list at the dealer and bought it for $39.

I also wanted to say that when I replaced mine I found small sticks, dead ants and misc bugs, leaves, and lots of dirt. The air was pushing past all of this to go into the cabin. Nasty.
