Awkward buzzing sound when driving cold car.
I've began hearing a weird buzzing noise around the car that only happens after I start a cold car and then drive it. It happens under light-throttle and only about 2-3 times and then it stops. What's going on?
is it only when the ride is cold?
Just curious, don't you let the car warm up? In case no... always a good idea ... anyways. I know you started installing some more mods lately, anything you install aluminum express/expands since the density changes are more dramatic at different changes then the stock steel our components are made of. If you ever heard my car tick (from the heades) you know what i'm talking about..
If not directly related to that, i'm remembering a TSB related to a weird sound upon startup, i used to have an odd sound hear and there, but my car has so much crap on it now that i really don't notice/care anymore. If it's not really effecting performance and it's temorary, any little tick or blip the car does isn't going to be the car falling apart down the block...
Anyways post up some more information, that's all i can think of for now.

No, I haven't installed my performance mods yet. And I just went outside to check if it does it when you throttle at idle and it does. It happens between 1700-1900RPM, above 2000 it goes away. 2 minutes later it'll go away and will be replaced by a very faint sounding squeak at around 1500, which is present all the time.
I think it is the heat shield on the cat. I pin-pointed the noise to be coming from almost right below the driver's seat. And seeing as how I ocassionally scrape the bottom of my car when I go down my driveway, I'd say this is the culprit. A quick tightening and bend should likely fix the issue.
Id check your tranny if i were you there is a pump in the tranny and when the buzzing comes that is a sign of a tranny going. If you hear it from behind the driverside front wheel thatst it. I know because im haveing the same problem dude. Sorry
annoying buzzing noise
Holy crap I've been searching the forums all tonight for this same issue. My max just started having the same buzzing noice coming for under the hood. It sounds electric almost. As odd as it sounds it doesnt sound like your tipical mechanical sqweak or a ticking, rather its an actual buzzing sound like a faint alarm clock. When I accelerate it gets faster and a little louder but the sound is always there. I cant pinpoint the sound that well since I have after market exhaust and intake, but I know it is not the exhaust or intake causing it, it is coming from under the hood almost like the passenger side. Any help is appreciated. Dont want to steal the thread but I figured they both are relavent to each other.
-Thanks in advance
