ff alarm info required

need info with alarm system. since i bought the car last november the alarm does not seem to work as i think it should do. from the remote it locks/unlocks & you can hear bleeping from the alarm control unit. it also self arms after so long. i have sat in the back & armed it, then opened the back doors but that does not trigger it either.

questions

1) should the inicators flash when arm/dissarming alarm ?

2) should the siren chirp when arm/dissarming ?

all fuses & pin switches checked ok

i am a self employed auto electrician so i know whats what with electrics. just need info as to what should do what or manuals ect.

thanks in advance
paul

This info is for the US spec Maximas:

1. the factory alarm didn't chirp *unless the previous owner added a buzzer on his own - it is possible and documented in the stickies*
2. when locking with the factory alarm, the blinkers flash twice (no beeps or sounds)
3. not to ask an obvious question, but are you sure your security/alarm system is factory installed (as opposed to aftermarket)?
