Electric Clips w/ Green Button - how?
Electric Clips w/ Green Button - how?
This is my first foray into the land of Nissans, and I have a simple question: how does one remove the electrical clips that are plugged into the stock intake system? I saw the green part, with a helpful arrow, but when I depress it the connector doesn't appear to loosen up.
Attached is a picture, I'm sure its uber-simple. Thanks all.

I had same problem. For some reason mine was really hard to take off. I ended up breaking mine so be careful. But yes your suppose to push it down and it's suppose to come up. Again careful you break it's a whole new engine harness $$$.
Here is the trick... put a small regular head screwdriver underneath it, then push down with your finger on the tab with the arrow while carefully rotating the head of the screwdriver... they will pop off every time.
The guys are right. Push a screwdriver in it, push ALL the way down till you hear a CLICK. That means its disengaged and you can pull the entire thing out. It took me a while to figure that out. Are you putting in an intake?
thanks to all who posted - I got it apart (and only busted myself up a little bit).
The reason I took the intake out was because of a series of 0171 errors, coupled with some sputtering. Took the intake apart, cleaned everything (including throttle body, MAF, airbox) and put it back together. disconnected battery overnight and all seems well. thanks again.

Iv'e been doing a lot of stuff to my Maxima lately and what Iv'e found that works best is a pair of needle nose pliers with a 90 degree bend at the end. I got it at Harbor Freight Tools. You squeeze the green part and it comes right off.
I havent broken one yet.
