i tried installin my cold air intake myself, and i cudnt, so i put da stock back 2gether, and now da car dont wanna turn on. any idea why?

Make sure you hooked the battery back up, or that the terminals are tight if the car does nothing at all, if it is not turning over/running, make sure you hooked your MAF back up.

 

it does crank, and i didnt touch da battery at all. what im looking at now is dat da smallest hose doesnt reach where it was before, so i need to know if is a 2 piece hose cuz now is just 2 short.

 

There are several hoses that you may be referring to:

1. the front valve cover breather hose
2. the hose from the intake to the IACV
3. the vaccum line from the intake

I think those are the only ones that you need to disconnect to pull the intake... which one are you talking about?

Look at pictures of a stock engine,like in Chiltons/Haynes or somewhere here on the org and make sure your midpipe (the one right before the throttle body) is installed properly.

 

ok, da hose wasnt da problem, i found it and put it back. it just doesnt wanna start at all. everything is back to where it was with da stock intake. it just still dont start

i don't know if this be da tube they be talking bouts, but there be a tube runnin from da intake to da back of da mota, kinda beside da Throttle postioning sensor. Make sure that be hooked up dawg.



the blue circle is where the hose starts. Your intake might be different but make sure that hose is connect or the car alot of time will not start up. Make sure you Mass air flow seonsor is plugged in(but it should start without it being pluged in).

hwy would u wanna take ur car apart while installing a CIA?? =)) it took me about 1 hour to change mine with out any instruction. Seller even says, DO NOT INSTALL IT URSELF <i>UNLESS</i> U KNOW WHAT TO DO. any way, if u could post pix of what u've done, I'll help u

make sure all the clips are on tight. when i installed my CAI i had someone attach all the tubes with the clips back on for me.. i didn't know that the person was a reckless fool leaving one tube barely hanging on.. and after driving about 5 feet my car turned off because a hose blew off the piping it was supposed to be attached to due to pressure.

also if the "small tube" you're reffering to, make sure its on "tight"... i think i know what you're talking about and it takes a little force to get them back on.

how about if you just try and instal the CAI again? it's probably easier than stock. and if not, you can post on here again and get some help.

 

The car should start without the IACV hose plugged in, I think that's what you're pointing to. Mine came disconected at Target once and the car started and tried to idle, but couldn't so it died. Scared the hell out of me, thought something bad was wrong.
