Signed on with Illusion Audio....

After a Very long discussion with Jeff this afternoon I decided to sign on with them. They have alot of promising and upcoming things to introdue this summer. Let me know your thoughts guys...

A bit of backround about Jeff quickly...A few years with Xtant Technologies, Many years with MBQ including 3 years in Germany.

Alot of you here that are also on ECA,CAF,etc Im sure are familiar with Illusion, but I was assured theres a Huge turn around for the company. Im also to proud to say that I am one of the first dealers to sign up.

I just checked out thier offerings. Intersting at best. Are they geared toward SQ? Here I go with appearances again, unconventional. I would love to hear some of these drivers.

very interesting specs on the subwoofers...looks like they use different motors on each size sub which means some R&D was done...or perhaps they just change the specs to make it look like they did.

edit: the EU series looks excellent for rear fill...1" silk tweet is nice.

Out of curiousity, how much for the Nd 8i? I have 8's right now, but haven't heard them and could be looking for replacements. I've heard very good things about Illusion Audio stuff ...

Just for reference Illusion carbon(nd's) series is regarded by many as one of the finest SQ subs available. Some of the specs on the website will be changing, they are working some retool on the sub line to make them small box friendly as opposed to the line in the past. I've spoken to Jeff Peter a few times myself in the recent past and the next month or so shows to be very promising. Him and his business partner definitly dont lack experience or ability. As you can see on their site their comp set offers a very nice 8" set in the 8.1, shallow mount drivers, neodymium magnets up front- perfect for us Maxima audio enthusiast wanting a fuller midbass in our cars. I've been promised that the silk dome will be quite tasty as well.

Don I see you have another high end weapon in your arsenal Good stuff, cannot wait to play with their gear-def exiting...

I've always liked Illusion Audio's stuff. A few years ago when I first saw them, I was impressed with the design, never got to hear them though.

A ballpark figure would be in the $300 range.

Not a biggie, youd be about $200, although Id storngly suggest spending the extra $50 and going for the Nd12

Hmm, I'll have to think on that one. I'll be using my MC500D Memphis amp to run it. 250x1 @ 4 ohms It actually puts out around 320 watts @ 4 ohms when I tested it in my truck. So it would push the Luccent just fine. I'm only looking to get 1 sub. But at 4 ohms, I might have to get 2 to divide it up.

I still have a lot of time to sit down and work on it. I'm not getting that new amp for my truck for a few more months. So for now that 500 will be in there.

Im sure I could, if theyre actually going to set up a dealer network. By the looks of it, they dont want dealers and just want to sell on their site.
