what's so special about pioneers?

why does the Pioneer DVH-P5000MP (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn..._35408,00.html) HU cost around 700 dollars while the JVC KD-ADV6160 (http://www.jvc.com/product.jsp?model...thId=52&page=1) costs around 375 dollars? I mean the Pioneer doesn't say that It can reproduce VCD (very important feature) like the JVC can, so what makes it so special?

I got my DVH 5000 from a local authorized store and it was an "open box" deal. I got it for less than $400. I almost never play VCDs so that wasn't much of a big deal for me. I am not familliar with the JVC but I know the Pioneer has a lot of functions you can play with for different customization settings and such.

the pioneer in my opinion sounds much better than the jvc. i had a jvc and then replaced it with a pioneer, and what a difference in sound it was. these were models that are now a couple years old though, the jvc kd-lh 3100 with the pioneer p-8600mp
