which box should I use

I'm putting 2 tens in the trunk of my 3rd gen max. Should I use a sealed box, a bandpass box, or a vented box? I'm trying to get the best sound possible but I lean towards the spl side...

Vented hands down. Bandpass will only let you have one boomy area of the frequency range.

Plus, if tuned right... a vented box can sound just as good as a sealed.

depends on what you sort of bass you like. sealed will give you the best sound quality, and tight punchy bass. ported/vented boxes are generally louder than a sealed, but you will lose a little sound quality. bandpass boxes are awesome if designed right, but most of those prefab bandpass box aren't...

I'm not a big fan of Prefab. But AE (Audio Enhancers) does build some good quality stuff.

Sealed boxes have the most "leeway" regarding construction and design. If you plan on building it yourself go with a sealed.

AscendantMax hit it right on the head.
