did my sales person lie to me?

he stated a bunch of things that haven't already happened. price. lease options. etc. the one that really kinda bugs me is that he told me that the nav could play dvd's as long as it was in park. well it's not...i know that i can mod this to make it work, but i didn't want to do all that. plus, i'll ask maxima.org this because then i'll get the correct answer, does it play mp3's? thanks.

ya i know, but when one asked the question 3 times, you would think that he would've went to find the right answer. now he's scrambling after i called him to find a "good" answer to tell me why the dvd doesn't work. he said he's going to ask a tech what to do...

I might be wrong here, but I think any OEM car company will not allow you to play movies in the front, even if its in Park. They dont want you to take the dvd navigation disc out and swapping it with movies. Thats why the aftermarket convertor piece for navigation is selling so well.

Research it, don't rely on a salesperson. You can only blame yourself, no one else is here to look out for you!!
Not being a hater just giving input 8-)

The Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Yukon XL, Escalade, etc...that already comes with nav in the dash will play dvds in the park position, also the new Infinity M35/45 will also....just food for thought.....

this is the reason why i didn't have an issue when i asked the sales person three (3) times and he gave me a very confident yes. i understand how sales people work, indeed i am one for the person who said it's my fault for not doing research. btw, i'm working quite a bit and so i didn't have time to do any research except that all i buy is nissan/infiniti.

btw, i still have my g35x.

I'd tell him I want to back out of the deal because the car wasn't as advertised. He told you it did all this stuff when it infact doesnt. Of course you'd be very hard pressed to actually do it, but they know that sometimes the littlest or dumbest feature will sell a car, so act like that stuff meant a lot to you and push the issue some, just to play with them some. Never know though, you probably would at get some menial stuff for free out of that, like some oil changes or whatever.

I understand why some people want dvd players for the back seat...as it's no doubt a great baby-sitter to keep kids from screaming on long car rides.

But I can't understand why anyone would want it for the front seat. You'd be wasting all your battery juice if you watched it while parked...and I'm hoping it's obvious why you wouldn't want it to play while you're driving.

if i wanted "fun" as in the sense of driving, i would drive my bro's g35c. this is for "fun" of entertainment with dvd's and nav for clients. this is obviously my opinion. like i said, it's not a huge deal, but i just don't like it when i'm expecting one thing and i don't get it. now i have to go pay someone to mod this thing for me. any ideas of how to do this? i know that some people have been getting that mod on the main page, but any other ideas? it's a lease and so if i do end up "modding" it, i want to make sure that one can't tell.
