b-pipe question??

I was looking at getting a cattman b-pipe but saw the cheap ebay cat-backs for $115. I was thinking of getting it just for the 2.5 b-pipe and trashing the fart can. What do you guys think? Here is a link.

cheap ebay exhaust

It depends on what your future exhaust plans are. I still don't have a b-pipe, because I have headers and don't really think it's necassary or worth the noise. But if you never plan on getting headers, than get the cheap one, personally I'd get the frankenacar if I didn't have my headers on.

I plan on getting Hotshot headers later on and keeping my oem muffler and get tips welded on. Frankencar and Cattman b-pipe are about the same price. I was just trying to same a buck. Do headers really make that much more noise?? Have you looked at the bents on our b-pipe?? I think the flow would be better with a b-pipe.

ive heard hotshot headers on 2.5 bpipe with resonator to stock muffler and i think it sounds great. i have a similar setup but a 2.25 bpipe with headers and stock muffler. the only thing i would consider would be a resonated straight pipe but otherwise i am happy. just make sure if you go with a b pipe to plan ahead if you want headers and get a resonator.

Frankencar

With the stock rear section, it's a nice sound. Still quiet when cruising, but has a nice smooth growl when you're on the gas. Sounds very nice, but not loud.....frankly, I have no plans to change mufflers, since the sound right now is damn close to exactly what i was looking for....

Fitament is perfect, also...

not that it really matters what it looks like, but here's some pics anyhow...

See if a shop will do a custom mandrel bent b-pipe for ya.... it may be cheaper... if not, Cattman and Frankencar are the best 2....

For that price I would take a chance. I wish I saw this before I dropped 190.00 for just a SS B-pipe from budget. I would also keep the muffler and give it a try. That's a dirt cheap price for all you're getting. Greddy sells their cat back system for about 550.00.

I looked at getting a custom b pipe made but cost would be about $150 so might as well go with something we know that works and fits well. Just saw that cat-back on ebay and wanted to know what you guys thinks. Gotta love the Frankencar SS.

That's becoming a more common way for sellers to disguise the true cost....'shipping'. I saw an HKS catback exhaust on Ebay for $370 + $100 shipping which pretty much made it cost the same a what HKS USA was selling it for.
