i got one 12 in, and it hits pretty good with a 700watt amp, saving up some money to get the jl 1000.1 amp, cause i heard another car with that setup and its freakin loud, i say money well worth it in my opinion because its loud, has deep low bass, and doesnt crack when you turn it up.

I don't personally have one but I have friends that do. I mainly see/hear 13.5w7's. If you like spl/sql alot these are great for you. They do get really loud and that's about all they're good for (in my opinion)

I actually designed the box for my friends '04 Dodge Ram 1500. We put two 13.5W7's in a bandpass box in the bed and cut a 48"x8" hole between the cab and the bed for the port. The box (including the port volume) is roughly 12 cu. ft. It also has 2 10w3's in fiberglass boxes under the rear seat. For power, it has 2 jl 1000.1's, 1 jl 500.1, 1 jl 300.4, 2 stinger batteries, and a 150 amp alt. It hits so hard, it hurts.

For some reason I don't like the W7 all that much. Maybe because they're overpriced (in my opinion), everyone has/wants them, or my sub sounds better (in my opinion).

I am just asking since I am still waiting for image dynamics to finish building there IDMax 12's. They have been on backorder since FEB. This would be my next choice if I don't get my ID MAX.

Definetly, I have installed a 13.5 W7 running off of JL's 500 watt amp (way underpowered for what it should have) and the sub was still pretty crazy. Speaker is SICK!!! Prepare for noise violations though!

I am shopping around for a few subs right now (got a 15" L7) and im browsing the classifieds to find something i could get, that might help me save some trunk space also. Looking at 2 12" W6's and a 10w7, how would compare those to the 15" L7 I have now?

i would get a W6 before i got a w7 because the difference is minimal and the price difference is huge. but before i got a w7 i would get ID Max's. the 13 w7 is just a 12 with a large surround. they are not that great of subs and the mark up on them is rediculous. my cost for a w7 at my shop is 344. we sell for 725 i belive for the 13.

Those subs are entirely different classes. If your looking to ge crazy loud then stick with your L7, give it the proper space/ennclosure and feed it with 1500 watts and you'll be amazed at the SPL. On the other hand, if your looking for SQ or SQL then JL would be the way to go. However, the Jl's will not be louder than the L7.

Thanks, right now i am feeding it with 1000 watts (RF 1000bd), and it does get up there in loudness, but on some songs it seems like the sub is tripping over itself when it comes to bass.
