Radar hardwire to sunroof switches??

I'm wanting to mounting my radar high on the windshield. I was wondering if it was possible to tap into the sunroof or courtesy light for power? looking for a write-up on which wire to tap. I have a 2000 gxe.

what kind of radar detector? if it's a passport, just use a long phone cord, and use the fuse panel.

If your 2001 has the autodimming rear view mirror, this would be the best route. No need to go all the way to the fuse panel since you have a direct route to a good 12v source at the mirror which is controlled when the ignition is turned on.

if you were a law abiding citizen who was going the speed limit you wouldnt need a radar detector

there is a write up that may interest you on my website...not a way to wire it but a nice place to mount it (allows hiding if needed)

Well don't laugh it was a gift, but I have a Cobra 9700. I don't have a auto dim mirror either.
