Nissan extended warranty..anyone got it?
Nissan extended warranty..anyone got it?
Could someone tell me or point me to where to look for what does Nissan extended (6yrs/75k) warranty cover? I am considering buying an '03 Max that comes with it, but just want to see how good this is.
thanks
thanks
my extended warranty (8 yrs/ 100,000k miles) basically covers most of the major components...i already know it doesnt cover my radio (i've had my bose fixed twice now, but i cant anymore because i'm out of the factory 3/36K warranty...) or little things like the engine cover emblem peeling...i'm not sure if it covers the MAF or not but i'm pretty sure it covers the coils....it covers suspension and the tranny as well....overall, it's pretty worth while, but if you wanna mod it, i wouldnt get a warranty
Be careful when you buy an extended warranty. My friend's Maxima came with a warranty when you bought his car new from the stealership. He thought it was through Nissan but later found out it was from a third party and to make things much worse the warranty company went out of business. The dealer offered my friend 200.00. He paid 1500.00 but used up 3 years and 50k of a 7yr. 100k warranty. Basically he was screwed. He called Nissan head and they said sorry can't do anything for ya.
I got it too.
I have the nissan gold extended warranty when I bought my max from a private owner, car was well maintained - she had it always serviced by nissan on schedule).
About the warrenty - Good stuff. Covered tranny solenoid, both front struts, coil pack, seatbelts, ... would have costed me a pretty penny without it. bumper to bumper. till 100,000 or nov 2005. Im pretty satisfied. Just make sure its provided by nissan.
Anyways, another good thing is its transferable to the next owner, like me, in my case, which would help u , if you plan to sell the car... the buyer has assurance that they are covered bumper to bumper.
Hope it helps.

I have the Nissan Gold to 100K miles (I'm currently at 80k), paid about $1K for it when I bought the car at 40K miles. So far, it has covered a new clutch master cylinder (and replacement of ALL the floormats, since the CMC leaked on my drivers' one)...also covered a bad strut (before I was dropped), replacement of a wheel bearing, and something else I can't remember. That said, I added the cost of all the repairs that were covered and they totalled over $1K...so the warranty has paid for itself, and I still have 20K left....
I bought a 02 maxima from a dealership a couple weeks ago and they said they dont offer normal nissan warranty and that I have to sign up through a third party. It was the only one they offered so normally I accepted. The price was normal... 1200 bux for 5 years or 60k for Preferred coverage (which is everything but the exterior and interior). And I can take it to a dealership or a shop that accepts this coverage. Its Universal Underwriters Group : CompleteCare.
I think this is perfectly fine, but like mentioned before, I'm just worried about this company going bankrupt.

The warranty on my car sucks. I got the extended and everytime I take in my car for a problem they charge me $85.00 to check each thing. If they find the problem and it is covered under the warranty they waive the $85.00, otherwise, I have to pay the $85.00 plus the charges to get the problem fixed. Not worth it at all, so be careful and read all the fine print.
