Use:

Got mine from streetbeatcustoms.com

-Spray in short burst into the bulb house opening, do many coats letting the paint dry between each coat.
-Look in owner's manual on how get to the bulb.

End up like this:

You don't, just remove it from the body, 4 bolts per light. Leave it assembled as is. Some have tried, even fewer have been succsessful in dismantling the assembly. It's not that hard, a little ingenuity and you'll be all set ...

The only think I took off was the light assembly itself from the car ... nothing else. You spray them from the inside.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE THE LIGHT FROM THE CAR!
It is a huge PITA. Just spray a couple of short bursts (very important) aiming the nozzle in a different direction each time, let it dry about 15-25 min and repeat until the desired effect is reached.

I removed mine from the car which made painting very easy. It may be a pain in the a**, but it insures no drips. Take the entire light out, lay it flat on the lens side, aim the spray into the light and make some quick bursts into either direction. Once there is a tiny bit pooling pics the light up and holding it lens side down tilt it right to left. This will distribute the paint into the grooves on the back side of the lens. Let each coat dry for around 20 minutes or use a hair dryer to speed the process. I used three coats of Testor's Candy Apple Red Translucent Model Paint bought at Wal-Mart for about $3 and the results are amazing!

Hey Man,
I still have the can I used to paint mine. There is probably enough for your tails if you don't feel like buying a new can. Let me know if you want it.
