New Brake kit found.

While looking for a new brake kit online today I stumbled uppon this on Ebay...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...983657578&rd=1

I'm trying to find more information on this kit, if its a 2 piece rotor kit then its worth the price.

I bought this kit directly from SSBC for $775.00 (stainlesssteelbrakes.com). I didn’t install it yet I’m having problem with disconnecting the brake line.

You bought the 2 piston kit I belive, which is few hundred dollars less.

As for your brake line problem, cut the line right above the rounded off nut, get a new line from a auto parts store and just remove the NUT from the new line and slide it on the old line. Then use a flareing tool to flare out the end of the line. I know its eassier to say it than do it but thats what I would do, possibly hour worth of work with the right tools - which might not be eassy to find since you are in Czech, but I seen those tools in a Opel shop when I was in Poland 6 years ago for my vacation

Yep. I'd say that's a little problem you have there!

BudVlad- you need one of these tools to fix your brake line problem.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...390209577&rd=1

There might be other ones on Ebay that are cheaper, you don't really need this whole kit unless you work on alot of old cars that might have brake line problems.

The reason I got this 2 piston kit is that the rotors are 13” and the calipers are OK for 17” wheels.

Iso 9001 compliant too. Wonder if they will fit under the stock 17's? Good find, and as always, keep us abreast.

Just use the Eradispeed 2 pc Cobra rotors, my brackets/rings + the 300z calipers and you have a light setup for probably less than a grand.

No one wants to sell those rotors and I can't find a vendor that will sell them at a decent price. I know my wheels will not clear the calipers with you brackets Jeff.

You know the picture shows 2 pc rotors but the description doesn't make any specific reference to them. Only says 13" rotors. And

Kits are complete with rotors, brackets, pads, master cylinder, spindles, seals, bearings, splash shields, lines and hardware (exact contents vary among kits)

I hate the weight penalty- its 24lbs per rotor, which is 2 times the weight of the stocker. It removes quite some power from the wheels- looking at the dyno charts, and its basically like having really heavy wheels on my car.

On top of that I hate the 04 Maxima rotors, they warp very eassily.

I want something I can beat to **** and not have problems with it.

Hey BlackBirdVQ, I've been running the SSBC big brake kit on my max for the last 2 months, and this kit is great for the price. The braking power is way much better than the stocker. I have had no single bad issue with the the SSBC brake. In many occasion I had to brake really hard and the brakes holded very well, the pedal is firm and there is no shaking or what so ever. All the crap that been said about SSBC seem to be more like an urban legend than reality. I've seen so many morons
trying to install brake parts the wrong way and then they call the mfg to say there product is no good. I have no interest in lying to you guys so trust meon that one.

Cheers

I bought some springs from the same seller (rennen motors) and they took for freakin' ever to send my stuff. I called them like 3 or 4 times to see what the deal was and I talked to an idiot every time. They seem to have good prices though.

whats the deal w/ the rotors, are the 2 piece or 1? Are they heavy compared to the stock rotors?

The rotors are one piece, because they are bigger than the stocker I would think they are heavier. The caliper are much ligter than the OEM, they are made of aluminum so I'm pretty shure it shave few pounds overall.

Thanks for the advice. The flaring tool was my last result. I have a bad experience with making brake lines for my racing Lotus Elan. If you don’t make the flare just right it keeps leaking. But with patience and wise-grip I finally managed to replace the line.
