What Illumina settings are best for city driving?
I have my setting set at 3F 3 R, but here in NYC the roads are so bad that i feel that is too firm. I have H&R springs btw. So what setting will give a combination of good ride quality and still maintain good handling?
I found 3 in the front and 2 in the rear to work well with my H-tech springs. I know, probably adds understeer, but softening up the rear made the ride more comfortable (to me) and keeping the front at 3 seemed to keep the front end under control.
Well, there are only 5 settings on each, so why not try some different combinations to see which works best for YOU? I mean, they're pretty freaking easy to change!
As for me, I run 4F, 3R typically, and 4F 5R for autocross....

Almost any Illumina setting will be better than stock in terms of handling... in terms of comfort, whatever you think is the most comfortable is the best setting for you... play around with it and decide for yourself... you say 3 is harsh, I think 3 is too soft... I have 3 all around right now because I'm driving long distance a lot and want it comfy, but its no fun to push the car with. I have Progress springs so I need stiffer settings anyways.

H-Techs and I just kicked it up a notch to 4 all the way around. I'm running Ps2's and since they are softer than the S-03's I was running, I decided to make it up in the suspension setting. The S-03's were riding on 3 all the way around.
the ride is the best it's ever been.

I have the H&R Illuminas and tried 3F/3R and found it a little too stiff for my liking. I like to feel the road but not every pebble. I set it to 2F/3R and it feels perfect to me. You can see from the posts above it varies greatly.
I just realize that 3F-3R with stock spring it's the best for me.
I have Pirelli Pzero Asymetrico with 37Psi all around, the tires it's so hard and loud.
I just change for Kuhmo ASX 245-45-17 with 32Psi all around and it's very comfortable and the handling it's superb.

Ive got my Eibachs and illuminas set on 5/5. I turned them to 1/1 just to see one day... I dont think Ill ever turn them down again, well atleast not till I strap on some 19's.
I haven't tried any other combinations which I probably should. But like Irish said, play around with it a little and find what's best for you. We all have different butts, and drive on different roads, so go find your own settings.
