VI swap, ? about EGR cooling and rear supports

I was wondering what others have done with the EGR cooling lines from the A32 when swapping to the 00VI? I was just going to loop the lines.

Also, I was wondering if the rear 2000 manifold supports will work with the swap. I'm guessing they will, but wanted to check to see if anyone has used these. (I'm assuming the A32's will not work)

Thanks.

And if someone could post some pics or dimensions of where the coil mounts need to be modified that would be appreciated as well. I can't find those pics to save my @ss for some reason, and I know I've seen them at least a dozen times. Here's a pic of my progress so far:

I bypassed both the TB and manifold coolant lines. If you trace them back closer to the front you'll see there's two spigots close together where you can just stick a small U-shaped hose on to close the loop.

The rear 00 supports will work fine since the heads are the same.

You can ditch those rear brackets for the manifold. They are hard to install and are just extra weight. If your worried about going without the brackets you can rock the car back and fourth by the bolted on intake manifold, its that strong. I Also looped the cooling hoses together and the car runs fine without them.

Jas others have said just loop the 2 coolant lines togetherm bypassing the TB and EGR lines.

oe do you have your EGR connected? I noticed that the IM moves a bit if no rear brackets or egr are used. I kept the egr pipe connected for a support, but removed the brackets. Seems solid to me.

It's probably fine without the rear brackets especially if you've got the EGR pipe connected. I just left one on anyway for insurance.. the weight is minimal.

EGR is connected and fully functional. The IM is solid I can rock the car back and fourth by that intake manifold, no leaks & no problems. And since when did you get a VI? Finally ditched that crappy 4th gen manifold?

I ordered the EGR Tube from Dave. The brackets are 12 bucks a piece. If I can have them shipped with the EGR tube, I may get the brackets for an extra 24 bucks. Possibly if I had one on the passengers side, with the EGR that would be adequate...

I'm still looking for that pic of the trimmed coil towers if anyone has it, I'd appreciate it.

I also will have a 2000 rear valve cover. Any way I can re-use the A32 coils with the A33 valve cover? I don't see me using it unless I can, because I already bought these coils, and am not too excited about buying more.

Here's the pic you're probably thinking of...

It's my understanding you can't switch coils between valve covers... ie you have to use the A33 coils with the A33 cover.

Did you guys have to move the metal vacuum interconnect part under the TB? I don't have adapter brackets yet, but it looks like those lines will be in the way.

If you're referring to the vacuum gallery (I believe you are) then yes you'll have to take it out if you want the throttle body attached at roughly the same angle as stock. I know others have addressed this issue by clocking the TB (rotating it clockwise maybe 45 deg or so) but I didn't want to do that as it would have caused me more problems lining up my throttle cables and bracket as well as clearance issues with my strut brace.

So in the end I found it easier to just remove the gallery and re-run the vacuum lines underneath (3 or 4 of them IIRC).
