i think you need a reflector for projector lenses to work. the lens itself loox about as big as the oem fog light. i dont think it would work.

The projectors have build-in reflectors. It will work! The question is how to attach it to the original plastic housing.

I saw this thread yesterday and have been looking for a nice set of projectors ever since. It would not be hard at all to make it work. I just can't find anything that I like in a good price range >$500. This is deffinately something that I want to do. Whenever I can get ahold of a nice set of projectors I am going to make a wite up with pics as to how I did it. But I don't see it happening any time soon, unless maybe I can find something on ebay, haha.

This is how I attached the projector to the fog light housing. I couldn’t figure out how to make it adjustable. The projector is too wide for the swing points in the housing. I will post more pictures when I am done.

In our case it means cutting and installing. Basically, changing something to fit another part for installation. It's rather broad.

that projector is going to be to far foward, you probably are goin to want to set it back some. you can do this my moding the projector.

drill holes where the yellow lines are in the pic (all 4) and use some self tapping screws or whatever you have to secure the lens holder tho the reflector.
then use a hacksaw or whatever to cutt of the tabs (red line) that are used to secure the bezel/lens.
the tabs on the bezels can be secure under the screws you just added or just siliconed on since you will need to weather proof the projector anyway. you will also need to silicone where the lens holder and reflector meet and the bulb sits in its holder. dont need much but it needs to be sealed.

once you have the projector taken care of you will also need to cutt off the piece of plastic that goes acoss the opening in the back where the foglights sit so the back of the projector will fit

The projector (left over from headlight retrofit) will not fit inside the original fog light. That would be too easy.

Finally finished!
I didn’t have to do anything drastic, I just filed a little bit from the side.

I had to cut the back piece and little on the side.

The projector fits nicely.

This is where I put the igniter.

those look awsome! what kind of projectors are they, and where did you get them? also are you going to put some kind of protective lens (cover?) in front to keep the projector lens from getting damage by rock chips and such?
can you post pix of how this loox at night, i think we are all interested in the acutal light output.

It didn’t cost any $$. The projectors are left over from retrofit of my head lights when I replaced them with Bosch projectors. The beam pattern isn't so great (that’s why I replaced them with Bosch) but as fog lights they will do. I will show the beam pattern later.

The lenses are from thick glass. I would have to be large stone to brake it.

not for nothing, but there is no protection on the projectors. You will have problems with pebbles and stuff hitting that lens.

they are the depo projectors, made crappy by having a very square reflector. They are fine for fogs though since most of your light should be coming from the main projectors anyways.

First of all the custom work looks great. But why would u use the projectors from the ebay headlites. i Think it'll look mad nice if you had some e46 single xenons. But from the looks of it seems to work so i guess if thas what you want. Again the custom work is tight ive never seen that on a maxima till now

Why would I use the projector from ebay headlights?
Because I had no other use for them after I did the Bosch retrofit. I knew the beam pattern will be lousy but it’s still better than the original foglights.

how much were your boshc projectors, and do you think those would be a good candidate for the fogs?
