Quote for bumper, hood repaint?

I went to 2 body shops the other day to get quote on repainting my front bumper and hood. (too many chips!) One place told me $600 and said if I wanted both front fenders too, it would be an extra $100/fender.

Then the 2nd place I went quoted me $1006.xx for just the hood and bumper! He was like "it might be cheaper at other places, but you get what you pay for."

Has anyone gotten their front end repainted and if so, how much did you pay?

Thanks,
Jason

allthough not on a maxima, and not in your area at all, i had the whole front nose of my 1993 prelude repainted(both fenders hood and bumper) for 800....which also included cutting my front body kit bumper in half and them reglassin it back 2gether cause it was too long for the car........the paint was a base coat clear coat white....nothing too fancy...but the work was good, i had no problems with it, cept for the fact now the front of th car looked better than the rear lol.... but so u have an idea......

i would guess around 500-800. usually just depends on what how nice of an estimate they give you. I'm getting my whole 4th gen repainted for $300 but i have connections. that goes to show you how cheap you can get a car painted. most of the cost of paint is preping the car.

go to the place that gave you the cheapest estimate and ask to see their work. Sometimes "you get what you pay for" is a complete BS, just ones like to get all the business they can get, while others have the volume and thus jacking up the prices.

Generally, I'd say 500-750 is a good price to do a decent paint job of the front end, depending on amt. of prep you need...

I paid $400 for the hood, both fenders and my bumper, but, then again, it was a buddy of mine who owned his own shop. Gave me the super-secret friend discount. Basically, I paid $400 cash and a case of beer.

Nissan quoted me 180 to paint my front bumper and 76 to install it. I had expected to pay much more especially from nissan.

Thanks for all your input guys.
GBAUER, you have an '03 and you had it painted already?? Was it chipping pretty bad or something?
Do you think it would be cheaper if I took off my hood and bumper and just brought those parts to the body shop to get painted? Maybe it would cut down on labor?

Make sure you see a few samples of their work. I have seen so many bad paint jobs that it amazes me how these shops get away with such shoddy work.

My dealer charged $250 for each, and did a beautiful job (filled in all of the rock chips too). This is in Houston.

if you do some or all of the prep work, and have a friend with a body shop you could have it painted pretty cheaply.
