Brembo blanks/ Hawk HPS, Question???
Brembo blanks/ Hawk HPS, Question???
As the title suggests I have just finnished installing new Brembo Blanks and Hawk HPS pads.
When test driving after the install I was quite pleased to have smooth, progressive stopping power without so much as a peep. This is a huge improvement over my OEM rotors which were both warped to ****, and my glazed pads. I followed the suggestions on the box for bedding them in and they performed wonderfully....... That is until I was just about home...
Problem is, I was braking moderately hard and started hearing an almost knocking sound. I can feel a little pulsating through the peddal, but not like a warped rotor. It feels like the pad is almost sticking in a certain spot.
Anybody ever experienced this before? I would really appreciate any insight as to what is going on so I can fix this tomorrow. Im done playing for tonight... Time for a beer
Also, is it normal to receive pads with indicator tabs for only one wheel? OE has them for both.

I upgraded to the same and have been very satisfied. I was hoping that it would fix my brake judder problem and it has, but still continue to have wheel shake. It is making me think that I have a bad cv joint or that one of my calipers is sticking. Very frustrating because everything else is a dream.

It sounds like you have a problem with it knocking every time you brake?
I only get a knocking sound when I hit the brakes pretty hard (no, its not the ABS).
Since the brakes seem to be working fine, I think Ill just wait a bit and see if the problem doesn't cure its self (we'll see how that works
) Maybe the pads just need some time and miles to be seated properly.
Ohhhhh!!! Thousand post party
