Pinging Problem

My car has been pinging when I let off the clutch for a while, I am putting on enough gas but it pings, it also pings when I tap the gas a little while in neutral. Also, my car has experienced a sudden loss of power. Is my MAF going out?

what octane gas are you running? it could just be your not runnin a good quality gas. With my 00 it was pinging when i bought it because the dude ran 7-11 regular gas. try some good gas, midgrade or premium.

My car starting to ping when my MAF was bad (that was the only time I ever had pinging). I also had a noticable loss of power. I replaced the MAF and both problems were solved.

Good to know, is it difficult to replace the MAF yourself? Should I have a dealer do it?

Maf is really easy to replace.. dont give it to dealer.. all you have to do is change the sensor by removing two screws... thats in 5 minute job

as far as pinging.. have u advanced your timing? check your timing.. maybe it needs to be retarded
